When-Where-Who-What game

When it comes to simple yet exciting games, “When, Where, Who, and What” is a classic! To prepare, place slips of paper with words or phrases into four boxes labeled “When,” “Where,” “Who,” and “What (did).” Once you’re set, decide the order with rock-paper-scissors or similar, then draw one slip from each box at random.
You’ll end up with weird or funny sentences that liven things up, even if you just read them.
But if you want to take it a step further, try actually carrying out the sentence you drew—it adds a thrilling twist and makes it even more fun!
Pose Matching Game

Strike a pose based on a given prompt, and continue in pairs until both partners match the same pose.
If you play as teams, the team whose pairs match their poses the fastest wins, in order of completion.
It’s a good idea to make cards with prompts written on them, shuffle them, and draw so the poses can’t be predicted.
Limited Shiritori

I’d like to introduce a game called “limited shiritori” that really livens things up at school and similar settings.
Unlike regular shiritori, you set a restriction—like English words only, or only four-letter words.
Then you just continue the shiritori following that theme.
You can make it even more exciting by rotating the right to choose the next theme or by adding penalties for losing.
It’s a game that people of all ages can enjoy, and it can help develop language skills, so it’s also great for families.

Who am I? game

There are similar games used in English class role-plays and in new employee training programs at companies.
They work as tools for building communication, and they’re also just plain fun as games! The rules are very simple.
The questioner decides on an answer, and the responder asks various questions about it.
If they manage to arrive at the correct answer, they win.
In a school setting, it could be fun to make it a competition between groups! You could also add a rule that everything has to be in English.
Since it requires no preparation, you can start anytime, even on the bus during a field trip or school excursion.
If you’re ever stuck filling time, this is the game to play!
Don’t-Call-It-Out Game

As the title suggests, it’s a game where making comebacks is forbidden, yet everyone tries to coax someone into making one.
People do terrible impressions that sound nothing alike or everyone keeps cracking silly jokes—those doing the gags are probably having a blast.
If you’re students, you could probably keep it going forever.
Speaking of ○○, it’s games.

Youth is being able to play all sorts of games with whatever’s on hand—like playing baseball with a single ping-pong ball or soccer with a tiny eraser when you have nothing else! As you get older, it gets harder to switch up your thinking…
The “What comes to mind when you hear ___?” game, where everyone answers the same thing together on the count of three, is simple yet super exciting! For example, given the prompt “red foods,” everyone on the team answers at the same time.
If everyone says “apple,” you pass; if even one person says something different, you fail.
That’s the whole rule.
It’s a game that’s sure to be a hit with mixed groups of men and women!
Spinach Game

It’s a game where everyone pretends to be holding one spinach, and whoever ends up with two spinaches shouts “Spinach!” Anyone who makes a mistake gets a penalty.
It’s a rhythm game that gets harder as the tempo speeds up, making it more and more exciting.
