Let’s make a tornado bottle

[Independent Research] Let's Make a Tornado Bottle!
Let's make a tornado bottle

This is a fun, visually engaging experiment that uses scientific principles to recreate a rarely seen “tornado.” All you need is a plastic bottle and some detergent, making it easy to set up.

By measuring and observing variables like the number of spins and the duration, it can also be used for an independent research project.

Although it’s on a plastic-bottle scale, creating your own tornado is a rare experience—why not give it a try?

Remake a 100-yen shop clock! Clip clock 👍✨Summer Vacation Craft#Summer Vacation Workshop#100-yen shop DIY#100-yen shop arrangement

♪ Original song – Nanmo-kun – Nanmo-kun

The part you can see from the back of a table clock or wall clock—the section with the battery compartment and the knob for setting the time—is called the movement.

You could say it’s the heart of the clock.

In fact, clock movements are sold on their own at 100-yen shops and home improvement stores, and you can use them to make your own original clock! If you’re good at woodworking, try starting from scratch by buying a wooden board and cutting a groove to fit the movement.

If that’s not your strong suit, there are also assembly kits with pre-cut grooves available, so you can use those instead.

Key rack made from 100-yen shop materials

[100-Yen DIY] Easy Craft: Key Rack and Accessory Holder – Summer Vacation DIY
Key rack made from 100-yen shop materials

This is a key rack packed with ideas, made using photo frames.

Prepare three identical photo frames: two will form the body and one will be the lid.

Start by making the body.

First, cut a cork sheet to fit the inside dimensions of a photo frame, apply a decorative remake sheet, and attach it to the first frame.

Next, glue the second frame on top of the first.

That completes the body.

Then, use hinges to connect the third frame to the body as a lid.

Finish by attaching an arch latch.

By inserting aluminum pins into the cork sheet, you can hang your keys on them.

It’s a creative project that turns photo frames into a key rack.

Try painting it or adding your own touches to make it uniquely yours.

One charm of strawberry jam is its vivid red color and distinctive translucence; it even seems like its appearance enhances its deliciousness.

This project focuses on that colorful aspect of strawberry jam and aims to cutely recreate the look of jam in a small jar.

Use a tiny jar—like the kind that once held craft parts—and pack it with pieces of clear plastic sheet painted red to resemble strawberry jam.

By decorating the inside of the jar, you can convincingly replicate that unique translucence and shine.

It’s also a great idea to plan jar decorations that highlight the contents inside.

To make it even cuter, try adding strawberries, cookies, and pink pearls.

Displaying photos or the actual piece will surely convey the fun to anyone who sees it.

Pasta has the image of being an easy, accessible food you can enjoy in many places, and choosing the flavor is part of the fun.

This piece is about using parts that evoke pasta to recreate various variations as mascots.

Since pasta comes in many shapes, let’s carefully plan decorations that match each type of pasta.

It’s important to imagine what ingredients would make it delicious as you create, and to do the detailed work needed to faithfully reproduce those elements.

Corner clip rice balls and sandwiches

Let’s make onigiri rice balls and sandwiches using corner clips for holding papers! For the onigiri, stick double-sided tape on the clip, then attach white, long-pile yarn to it.

Next, glue a small square of black felt on top to act as the seaweed, and it’s done! It’s also fun to tuck pieces of felt that look like fillings into the gap of the clip.

For the sandwich, prepare white felt cut into a triangle like bread, and felt cut into shapes for ham and lettuce.

Stick them together with double-sided tape in the order of fillings, then bread, and you’re finished! You can customize both the onigiri and sandwiches by changing the colors of felt and the types of “fillings” you cut out.
