It’s a perfect water balloon battle for beach play! The best part is that it’s fun with both small and large groups.
The simple rule—split into teams and hit the opposing team’s “it” with water balloons, with the team that gets them the most soaked winning—is also a big draw.
You’ll need to prepare plenty of water balloons, so it takes a bit of effort, but it will definitely become an unforgettable summer memory! You can expand the ways to play depending on your ideas—like hanging paper targets around players’ necks or doing a relay where you pop balloons as you go—so give it a try!

clam digging
Although clam digging is often associated with spring, you can actually do it year-round.
The key is to aim for low tide when the water recedes.
You can take the clams you collect home, or cook and eat them on the spot—that’s fun too.

If watching summer high school baseball made you want to give the sport a try, why not start with beach baseball for an easy entry? Beach baseball is a simplified, triangle-base version of the game.
Teams are made up of 6–7 players and you play with just three bases, with second base removed.

It’s a free canvas where you can draw whatever you like—go bold and sketch your favorite pictures! And this one’s even used in drama scenes: it’s a simple, slightly romantic activity that’s perfect for a nighttime beach when you can’t go into the water.
Shell collecting
If you take a close look at the sandy beach, you’ll find all kinds of things scattered about.
While we’re seeing more trash these days, there are still plenty of beautiful things too.
It’s said that there are over 100,000 species of shellfish you can find along the shore.
