I’ve just received 〇〇! Milk Boy

Milkboy, the duo who won the 2019 M-1 Grand Prix with their cornflakes routine and have since appeared frequently on variety shows and in commercials.

Their chatter-filled manzai, built on a pattern where the mother forgets the name of something, is very popular, and at the start of every routine they do a small gag where they claim to have received some outrageous item from the audience! Many people have probably chuckled at Utsumi’s line, “No matter how many of these you have, it never hurts,” after receiving unexpected things like a photocopy of a driver’s license or one of those ‘kids dashing out’ signs.

Plus, it’s funny that Komaba tucks whatever he’s given into his breast pocket every time.

It’s easy to perform on the spot, freely adaptable, and the bit is widely known, so if you whip it out when the moment calls for it, it’s sure to land!

What about Kisama? Chidori

The phrase “Kisāma wa?” that Daigo says back to Nobu in the commercial is really memorable.

It works as a one-shot gag, and it’s also great to drop casually during drinks.

If you reply with “Kisāma wa?” when you want to ask something, it’ll get a laugh.

Since they’re a comedy duo known across generations, it’s easy to imitate.

Mr.

Haraichi from the comedy duo FUJIWARA always says he has a trillion gags! Many people probably think of him when they hear “one-shot gag.” How about picking some favorites or famous ones from that trillion and trying them out? Short gags like “Pokuchin pokuchin~,” “I see, I see, I totally see!,” and “To live!” are all quick, so it might be fun to string a few together.

[Improv Game] The Bragging Legend game is way too hard lolololol
tale of valor Oriental Radio

It’s a skit by Oriental Radio, right? These days they’re more strongly associated with singing and doing performances, but if that image exists, their original skits should land well too.

I think it’ll really liven things up if you turn in-house inside jokes or true stories from friends’ pasts into “legendary tales” for the bit.

One-shot gags of famous comedians and impersonation skits (11–20)

I don’t really get what you’re saying.Sandwich Man

A collection of “I have no idea what you're talking about” (videos currently available)
I don’t really get what you’re saying. Sandwichman

Speaking of Sandwichman’s Tomizawa-san’s gag, it’s “I don’t really understand what you’re saying.” When the other person is saying something that makes no sense, pretending to agree and then wrapping up with “I don’t really understand what you’re saying” creates a very fun vibe.

It’s also a handy phrase you can use to act like you don’t understand when something inconvenient for you comes up.

There’s even merch that uses this line, and you could say it’s a long-standing, classic gag.

Kyogen DialogueSuehirogarizu

[Official] SUEHIROGARIZU Manzai “3-Minute Cooking”
Kyogen Dialogue Suehirogarizu

The comedy duo Suehirogarizu, who competed in the 2019 M-1 Grand Prix, rapidly rose to fame and began appearing frequently on TV.

One member holds a folding fan, while the other beats a hand drum and speaks in a kyogen-like manner, transforming all modern expressions into language as if they were happening within a kyogen play—this act propelled them to stardom.

How about livening up the room with that kyogen-style delivery? It does require the fairly advanced skill of instantly converting language on the spot, but it’s sure to be a hit!

“Hello, I’m ___” impression/impersonationGanbareruya Yoshiko

Speaking of Yoshiko from Ganbareruya, she shot to fame with her “Hello, I’m Koyuki” routine.

Other well-known bits include her impressions of Mikako Tabe and Ryoko Hirosue.

If you’re a long-haired woman, you can sweep your hair back and instantly do a Koyuki impression on the spot.

Use slightly exaggerated movements and funny faces to get some laughs.
