Lovely music

A timeless masterpiece that lets you feel the cosmos. A space-themed song filled with dreams and love, evoking starry skies and galaxies.

What kind of music do you think of when you hear “space”? If we limit ourselves to just the word “space,” the scope might feel narrow, but there are songs that capture it from many angles—like the moon and the stars.

This is a playlist packed with theme songs from TV anime and films that use space as a motif, as well as masterpieces that feature planets, stars, and the moon in their titles.

While researching, I was surprised to find that many space-themed songs are essentially love songs.

How romantic.

Please enjoy a generous selection of space songs that brim with dreams and hope, and overflow with love for that special someone!

Aster Akito Asu

This work is presented by the virtual singer, Akiro.

Set against the backdrop of the cosmos and the stars, it delicately portrays loneliness and hope.

The crystalline vocals and beautiful melodies blend together to deeply resonate with listeners.

It was released early on December 29, 2024, and is included on the second album, “ray of hope.” Written and composed by Akita Horie, the song symbolizes the album’s theme of “light.” The lyrics, where transience and eternity, warmth and solitude intersect, remind us of the preciousness of every moment in life and our connections with others.

It’s a moving track you’ll want to listen to alone on a quiet night.

The Checkers LIVE 1985 “Stardust Stage”
Stardust StageChekkāzu

It’s The Checkers’ classic song ‘Hoshikuzu no Stage’ (‘Stage of Stardust’).

Set to a slow yet powerful 6/8 meter, Fumiya Fujii and the band unleash their passion with explosive emotion.

That feeling hits you hard on this side, too.

The Checkers, so full of charm, are truly one of a kind.

When it comes to summer, it has to be this song: Aiko’s “Hanabi.” Who else could come up with an expression like “hanging from a constellation”? I’m in awe of Aiko’s sense.

It’s a song overflowing with Aiko’s world, where phrasing that carries a touch of melancholy lingers beneath the girlish energy and excitement.

I’ll give you the universe.Aka-hoho Shishunki (BOL4)

This is the Japanese debut title track by the stylishly musical Korean artist BOL4, also known as Bolbbalgan4.

The song, “Galaxy,” is described by the members themselves as the track that best captures Bolbbalgan4’s sensibility.

It’s a celebrated piece that helped raise their profile in Korea as well, offering a gentle, dreamy mood you can sink into.

Ahn Jiyoung’s soft vocals are full of warmth, and together with the lyrics about pure, budding love, they create a worldview that evokes the vastness of the universe.

It makes your heart flutter.

Hug feat. kojikojiSorane

The smash-hit rapper Sorane’s “Hug feat.

kojikoji” is actually themed around aliens.

Released in 2019, the song also has a popular album-version music video from January 2020, with some of the lyrics and melody reworked.

The mellow, stylish track blends Sorane’s flow with kojikoji’s sweet vocals to create a perfectly vibey atmosphere.

The lyrics, which sing about a love for music, are wonderfully romantic.

Even an alien might feel their heart skip a beat if they were gifted this song.

On a night when stars fallToukyou Sukapara Daisu Ookesutora

It’s ‘Hoshifuru Yoru ni,’ a collaboration between Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and Hiroto Kōmoto! With a light, comfortable ska rhythm, a ruggedly romantic melody, and Kōmoto’s emotive vocals.

The band members’ playing even sounds like they’re having fun.

It’s a song wrapped in kindness, poignancy, and joy.

From his days in Flipper’s Guitar through his solo career, Kenji Ozawa—aka Ozaken—has continued to produce numerous masterpieces, building a brilliant legacy.

Titled “Comet,” this track is as funky and ultra-catchy as ever, carrying a message that the very days and everyday life unfolding before us are themselves the universe.

In true Ozaken fashion, it’s a colorful, pop-infused, euphoric anthem on a grand scale that sings of the sheer cosmic miracle of human birth and existence.
