Origami and paper tape garlands

Here’s a softly three-dimensional flower garland.
The petals are made to pop out, and it’s super cute! Cut your favorite colored origami paper to make eight strips.
You’ll roll each of the eight strips, but be careful: if you glue the colored side to the back edge, it will just form a ring.
To make petals, glue the colored sides together where they meet.
That way, you’ll get adorable petal shapes! Make eight of these loops.
Then, cut a yellow circle from origami paper and glue the petals around it—that’s it! You can also have fun customizing it by changing the flower colors or making the yellow center a shape other than a circle.
Gorgeous plum blossom decoration

This mobile features adorable plum blossoms with a variety of eye-catching silhouettes.
Among them, the blossoms made by preparing slightly longer and shorter paper strips and fastening them with a stapler are both glamorous and very easy to make—handy to know because you can adapt the idea in many ways.
There are also three-dimensional plum blossoms you can create by cutting patterned and plain origami paper into flower shapes and pasting them together—simple paper crafts that are a joy to make.
Attach everything to a string with masking tape, and you’ll have a splendid decoration that brings the gentle atmosphere of spring to life.
Dandelion and butterfly decorations

This mobile combines yarn-made flowers with butterflies made from colored construction paper—such a cute pairing.
If you make the yarn flowers to look like dandelions in yellow and white, kids are sure to love them.
You can use any colors for the butterflies, but mixing various pastel shades makes it easy to start conversations like, “Which color butterfly do you like?” Yarn pom-poms can be made using kits sold at 100-yen shops, too.
Enjoy the bright, gentle atmosphere of spring!

Origami cherry blossom garland

Why not decorate your room with a garland of cherry blossoms made from origami? Here’s an idea for a sakura garland created by cutting and linking pieces of origami paper.
Just like when you make an origami star, fold the paper into a pentagon, draw the shape of sakura petals, and cut it out with scissors.
When you unfold it, you’ll have five petals with the same pattern.
Feel free to draw any petal design you like—the surprise when you open it is part of the fun.
To connect them into a garland, make a single cut on one part of each blossom and link them together.
You can connect them horizontally or vertically to create a delightful garland!
Balloon and animal mobile

Here’s a very cute paper mobile you can make and hang from the ceiling.
This idea lets you craft your favorite shapes out of paper—try spring-inspired motifs like flowers or hot-air balloons.
When you display it, using a tree branch can add a warm, natural feel.
You can also make a base by forming a ring from a vinyl hose sold at home improvement stores and hang the pieces from the ring—it looks adorable too.
It’s also lovely to have young children make spring motifs and decorate freely.
Mobile of clouds and balloons

It spins around and looks so cute! Let me share an idea for a mobile with fluffy clouds and hot air balloons.
You’ll need scissors, glue, thread, beads, translucent origami paper, tissue paper, four rubber bands, craft adhesive, tape, and bamboo skewers.
Use the tissue paper and rubber bands to make fluffy clouds, and make the hot air balloons with the translucent origami paper and beads.
You’ll build a frame with the bamboo skewers and hang the pieces, so if you’re making this with children, be sure to work with safety in mind.
Cute spherical mobile

This is a simple spherical mobile you can make with colored construction paper.
First, use the rim of a cup or similar object to trace circles onto the paper.
Make eight circles in total, fold each one in half, and glue them together, one by one.
Before gluing the first and eighth pieces together, sandwich a string between them to form the sphere.
After that, have fun customizing it by making spheres of different sizes or using papers with different textures.
Adding shiny stickers is a nice touch, too.
Create an exciting atmosphere with a festive, voluminous mobile!
