Their tear-jerking, sing-along melodies truly come into their own when experienced live.

What HappenedH₂O

Included on the 2008 album “Nothing to Prove.” A five-piece band formed around the Morse brothers, Toby and Todd, who are from New York and formed the group in 1991.

They are now based on the West Coast.

They play poppy, highly melodic melodic hardcore that you wouldn’t expect from an East Coast band.

Not The SameBodyjar

A four-piece band from Australia whose pop yet wistful melodies became their signature, influencing many in Japan’s melodic hardcore scene.

Since their 1994 debut they released albums steadily, but disbanded once in 2009.

They reunited in 2012 and, as of 2019, remain active.

While their sound has shifted somewhat from their early fast melodic punk, their true hallmark is, above all, the excellence of their melancholic, heartrending melodies.

Hit Or MissNew Found Glory

Included on the 2000 album “New Found Glory.” A four-piece band from Florida formed in 1997.

Influenced by Green Day, they deliver melodic hardcore that rivals the originals.

It’s a fine track where a bright, poppy sound matches perfectly with soaring vocals.

Since its founding in 2004, Run for Cover Records has become a renowned label that has introduced many outstanding bands to the American indie, punk, hardcore, and emo scenes.

For those who love this label, the name Basement is surely a special one.

Formed in Ipswich, England, the band quickly rose to popularity by channeling the sounds of ’90s emocore and grunge through a youthful, modern sensibility.

They’ve toured Japan and have a devoted fanbase here as well.
