When it came to mobile phone commercials, it used to be only the three major carriers, but since the advent of smartphones, there’s been an increase in ads for the devices themselves from various manufacturers.

In the past few years, budget SIMs have also taken hold, and many telecom operators are now airing commercials.

Recently, a wide range of tracks—everything from songs that perfectly match the sleek image of smartphones to more familiar, approachable tunes—are being chosen, regardless of how well-known they are.

Apple iPhone 5 "Photos Every Day"

BlueRob Simonsen

A commercial shows people taking photos in various places—around town, in nature, at home, and at live venues—capturing whatever they like.

They’re all using iPhones, highlighting how easy it is to take photos if you have one.

The calm, memorable piano piece playing in the CM is Blue by Rob Simonsen.

Known for film scores as well, his composition is simple yet perfectly suited to the commercial’s mood, with a heartwarming melody.

Apple iPhone 15 'Don’t Let Me Go' Version

Don’t Let GoTerrace Martin

This commercial highlights that even the smallest-capacity model in the iPhone 15 series comes with 128GB of storage.

When a man tries to delete a photo of an older woman, the woman’s mouth in the photo moves and says, “Don’t Let Me Go.” In Japanese, that would mean something like “Don’t throw me away,” emphasizing that there’s plenty of storage so you don’t need to delete photos.

The song used as the commercial’s BGM is “Don’t Let Go” by American artist Terrace Martin.

The distinctive, heavily processed vocals leave a strong impression—you hear it once and it’s unforgettable.

The version used in the commercial has slightly different lyrics from the original, so try listening and see if you can spot what’s changed.

This commercial introduces how great a deal Y!mobile’s student discount is and appeals to the idea that it adds fun to everyday life.

JO1 performs a dance in school uniforms, and their sharp moves and expressions convey the excitement of using it affordably.

The song that further amplifies the dynamism depicted in the visuals is JO1’s rendition of “Y.M.C.A.” With a glamorous sound that pays homage to the Village People’s original and layered with cheerful vocals, it creates a positive atmosphere.

Apple Trade In

Ching Ching ft. Nelly Furtado, TimbalandMs. Jade

The Apple Trade In commercial featured a song packed with onomatopoeia, didn’t it? It was pretty striking, so I bet many people remember it.

The song is “Ching Ching,” by rapper Ms.

Jade and singer Nelly Furtado.

In the track, the title phrase is repeated while it depicts a party getting lively.

By the way, “ching” is an onomatopoeic word for the sound of glasses clinking together.

This is the introductory commercial for the iPhone 16e announced in February 2025.

The video is striking, featuring a blue character inflated with air that appears to dance—and many viewers may have found themselves unable to look away.

The background music is Talk by Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.

It’s an intriguing track that combines slightly dark-tinged vocals with a fun, listenable production.

This is the commercial titled “Duo,” introducing the Plus series first launched with the iPhone 6.

It compares the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus side by side, highlighting how the larger screen of the Plus series offers greater convenience.

The background music, sung a cappella by a male voice, is Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra.

While most people will recognize this grand orchestral melody, surprisingly many may not know its title.
