Plesiosaurus

Easy Origami Dinosaur: How to Make a Plesiosaurus (Long-Necked Dinosaur) ~How to make an easy origami plesiosaurus~ #shorts
Plesiosaurus

We’ll show you how to fold a Plesiosaurus using a single sheet of origami paper! First, start with the traditional crane base.

From the diamond shape on one side, continue folding as you would for a crane to form the legs.

On the opposite side, fold both edges to the center line, flip it over, and make an inside reverse fold at the tip.

Once you adjust the shape, your Plesiosaurus is complete! Since there are many delicate steps, children who find it difficult should work together with an adult.

You’ll end up with a small, cute dinosaur, so have fun making it with your kids.

Dinosaurs made with accordion folding

Here’s how to make a simple accordion-fold dinosaur! You’ll need a sheet of origami paper cut in half, dinosaur parts, and glue.

First, fold the origami paper back and forth in an accordion.

Apply glue to the end of the accordion fold, press it firmly together halfway, then open it up to make a fan shape.

That completes the body.

Finally, glue on the dinosaur’s face, tail, legs, eyes, and other parts.

For the eyes, round stickers or drawing a face with a pen are both cute options I recommend.

Prepare the parts together with your child and give it a try!

I’ll show you how to fold a dinosaur! First, prepare a piece of larger origami paper cut in half, then proceed using the Kannon (petal) base.

Fold each of the four corners toward the center to make crease lines.

Open the front corner along the crease and squash it flat, then fold down the single layers on the left and right.

Fold the top the same way, and fold the left and right upward.

Fold twice so that all four edges stand perpendicular to the center.

Turn it over, fold the four edges toward the center, then fold the whole model in half outward.

Tuck in the tip on one side to form the neck.

Finally, slightly overlap-fold the tip of the neck and the tips of the legs, and your dinosaur is complete! Draw a face with a pen.

Pterodactyl

I’ll show you how to fold a pterodactyl with moving wings! First, fold into a triangle twice, then open once and place it with a corner pointing down.

Fold both side edges to align with the center crease.

Fold the top two corners straight down to form triangles, then fold along the creases so that the white side shows.

Flip it over and repeat the same folds, then fold the model in half from the center so the creases are on the outside.

Fold so that the lower edge of the white side meets the center line at a right angle, then make an inside reverse fold along the line.

Fold the tip of the folded section down so that it meets the center line, then make another inside reverse fold.

Squash-fold the upper part of the folded section, and fold so that the lower edges of the white sections on both sides are vertical.

Finally, fold the colored section back down and shape the wings—and you’re done!

I’ll show you a very simple way to fold a Tyrannosaurus! You only need one sheet of origami paper.

First, flip it over so the back side is up and place a corner facing you, then fold using this style.

Fold the inner bottom corners diagonally toward the center so the tips stick out to the outside.

Turn the white side horizontally, then fold so the protruding corners on both sides connect straight to the tip.

Turn it back and fold in half so the white part is on the inside.

Fold the narrow tip slightly diagonally, about one-third of the way, to make a crease.

Open and squash-fold along the crease, and finally draw the face and patterns with a pen or crayon—your Tyrannosaurus is complete!
