When it gets cold, kids spend more time playing indoors, don’t they?
Playing house or reading picture books is fun, but how about enjoying origami with the children?
In this article, we’re introducing a snowman origami design that’s perfect for three-year-olds.
Once they learn it, there are plenty of steps they can do on their own, so be sure to try making it together.
Make the scarf and hat colorful, give the snowmen different expressions, and display them around the room—they’ll look super cute!
Since they’re three years old, it’s okay if the folds aren’t perfectly precise.

A snowman you can make in 3 minutes

Make it with a single sheet of origami! Here’s how to fold a cute snowman.
With the colored side up, fold the paper into a triangle twice to crease it, then fold the three corners in to meet the center line.
Flip it over, fold the bottom edge up to just before the center line, then unfold only the corners.
Rotate the paper 90 degrees, and fold the bottom corner up to meet the top corner.
Fold the top layer down along the edge you just made.
Flip it over again, and fold the left and right edges so they stick out just a little past the center line.
Squash-fold the four inner corners.
Slightly round the corners by folding them a bit to give a snowman-like shape.
Finally, draw the face and a scarf with a pen, and you’re done!
In conclusion
We introduced some origami snowmen recommended for three-year-olds. Choose the ones that best match children’s interests—whether a simple design made from a single sheet or a more impressive snowman using several sheets. They also work great as hanging decorations!
