They’re made with familiar materials and include lots of engaging tricks—blowing air to make them move or using the power of rubber bands—to really grab children’s interest.
Through making these, kids can grow their creativity and expressive skills, while the excitement and thrills spread as they work with friends.
It’s sure to be a special time where everyone can share the fun of Halloween.

Halloween Characters Made with the Stencil Technique

Here’s a super cute craft to decorate your room wall.
We’ll use a stenciling technique, so let’s start by making a dauber.
Cut shapes out of construction paper—ghosts, pumpkins, and candy.
Place the stencil on black construction paper and secure it with masking tape, then gently dab on paint with a pouncing motion.
Keep dabbing until the color shows nicely.
Tip: add just a little water to the paint before using it.
Once it’s dry, peel off the stencil and draw the eyes and mouth.
Hang it up and enjoy it with the kids!
Halloween hat

Here’s an idea for a pumpkin hat kids can wear for costumes.
Prepare two sheets of orange construction paper and place them vertically.
Draw a horizontal line 15 cm down from the top.
Below that line, draw vertical lines spaced evenly.
Tape the two sheets together, but be careful not to tape over the area with the vertical lines.
Apply double-sided tape along the very bottom edge of the paper, then cut along the vertical lines to create narrow strips.
Attach each strip, one by one, to the back side of the upper part of the paper, then crease between each strip.
Roll the whole thing into a cylinder and attach a rubber band so the size can be adjusted.
Finally, add a pumpkin face and a hat made from black construction paper, and you’re done! Be sure to use paper sized to fit the child’s head.
Monster mask

Recommended when you want an easy costume! Here’s an idea for a photo-prop-style monster mask.
You’ll need paper plates, a wooden skewer (or chopstick), and paint.
First, cut a paper plate at about one-third.
On the larger piece, cut out holes for the eyes and nose, then paint it.
Cut the smaller piece to make the monster’s horns.
Attach the horns, then fix the wooden skewer to the back—and you’re done.
Add eyes on the forehead, draw patterns on the horns—decorate it however you like to create the monster you imagine.

Here’s an idea for a stained-glass-style ghost wand.
First, cut two ghost-shaped frames out of black construction paper; attach a straw to one frame as the handle.
On the other frame, attach a clear plastic bag, then stick pieces of cut colored film onto the bag area.
Layer the frame with the colored film over the frame with the straw and glue them together.
Tie a ribbon around the straw, draw a ghost face on the bag section, and you’re done! Ghosts usually appear in dark places, but this ghost wand looks sparkly and beautiful when you hold it up to the light.

spider

Let’s make a spider that’s perfect for Halloween decorations.
First, use a paper plate and white string to make a spiderweb.
Cut 10 evenly spaced slits around the rim of the paper plate.
Loop the string through the slits in a radial pattern to form the web.
For the spider, twist four chenille stems (pipe cleaners) together at the center, then glue a cotton ball onto the twisted spot.
Spread out the pipe cleaners to look like legs, and add googly-eye stickers.
Attach the spider to the web, punch a hole at the top of the paper plate, thread a pipe cleaner through, twist it into a loop, and you’re done.
You can also add other pieces besides the spider to give it an even more Halloween-like finish.
In conclusion
We introduced ideas for a Halloween craft that lets 4-year-olds’ individuality shine.
It looks like the children will be able to create fun projects that make use of their imagination.
With a little creativity, there are many ways to express themselves, so take your time and enjoy making them together with the kids.
While soaking in the Halloween atmosphere and playing as you create, you can make heartwarming memories.
