Animal riddles (1–10)
The animal in the refrigerator is

What animal is in the refrigerator? The 10th question is an animal question.
There were lots of other fun questions, too.
An animal that goes into a refrigerator…
Since it’s a quiz, I even wondered, or rather, which animals wouldn’t fit? When you hear the answer, you’ll think, “Oh, so that’s what it was.”
What animal gets lighter when you flip it over?
An animal that gets lighter when flipped over… Just imagining various animals flipping over makes you feel warm and fuzzy, doesn’t it? But no matter how many real animals you flip, you won’t reach the answer! And since there are so many animals, guessing at random won’t help much either.
The key to solving this riddle is to focus on the crucial word “karui” (軽い), meaning “light.”
When written in katakana, it’s “カルイ” (karui).
If you flip it—i.e., read it backward—it becomes “イルカ” (iruka), which means “dolphin.” So the answer is “dolphin.”
17th Animal Quiz

What is the 17th animal? That’s the question.
With number-related quizzes, you tend to wonder if the Chinese zodiac is involved, and you consider various possibilities.
You might also think along the lines of “the number before the 18th is 17…” The answer makes you go, “Ah, that makes sense—of course!” It’s a really good question.
An animal troubled because it has run out of toilet paper.

If you forget at the start that it’s a riddle, it’s hard to come up with the answer.
The wording of the question is impactful and pulls your thinking in a certain direction.
The answer is “ookami” (wolf).
It’s toilet paper—in other words, paper (kami).
Because you’re in trouble (komatteiru), you add “oo” (big/oh), and together it becomes “ookami.” It’s a riddle where you can’t reach the answer unless you combine one association with another.
Whose tail? Quiz

It’s a quiz where you first show only the tails of various animals and guess what animal they are.
Even if you know them by looking at the whole animal, many kids might not have paid much attention to the tail.
Even adults sometimes miss these details—it’s a little learning experience.
Reading Quiz

It’s a reading quiz.
You’ll feel like answering “horse” right away, but since it’s a quiz, of course that’s not it.
You might wonder if something tiny is written in the black parts, or try changing the angle and thinking it over, but it’s still hard to get.
The answer is “zebra.” It’s a cleverly made question.

In doing so, parents cultivate their own patience.
Animal discovery! Trompe-l’oeil (optical illusion) quiz

It’s said that there are five animals hidden in a single picture that, at a glance, just looks like a simple yellow-and-black pattern.
If you can find all the animals within one minute, your IQ is supposedly 200! You might find it easier if you squint, look from a distance, or turn the image upside down.
The answers are provided at the end.
