[Nagoya] Bands, Artists, and Singers from Aichi Prefecture (51–60)
town/cityKuroyanagi Yasunari (SOPHIA)
SOPHIA debuted in 1995, during the visual-kei boom, and stood out from other bands with their lighter makeup and casual fashion.
The band was formed in Osaka, and while most members—including vocalist Mitsuru Matsuoka, who also worked as an actor—are from the Kansai region, bassist Yoshio Kuroyanagi, who joined after the band was formed, is the only member from Aichi Prefecture.
The band held their final concert at Nippon Budokan in 2013 and has been on hiatus since.

They are a pop-punk band formed in Aichi Prefecture in 2005.
Armed with a fast-paced, melodic sound, they’ve been actively performing and releasing music.
In 2008, they released the mini-album “SEVEN COLORS.” In 2014, they drew attention by performing the opening theme for the anime “Wolf Girl & Black Prince.” Their catchy musical style is a major draw.

New BeginningItō Chiaki (moto AAA)

Chiaki Ito, who was a member of the mixed-gender performance group AAA until 2017, which went on hiatus after their 2021 tour.
She is from Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture, passed an avex audition in 2004, and won the audition program “Uta-Star!” the following year, making her debut as a member of AAA.
In addition to her performances with AAA, she was active in multiple fields—appearing in films and TV dramas, working as a voice actor in anime, and modeling—and in 2017 she graduated from AAA upon getting married.
EL DORADOJeiru Oohashi (Seikimatsu)

Takashi “Jail Oohashi” Ohashi, a guitarist who debuted in 1985 as a member of Seikima-II, hails from Toyohashi City.
He left the band in 1987 and continued his career with bands and as a solo artist, but has participated in Seikima-II again since their re-formation in 2005.
In 2009, the English self-cover album AKUMA NATIVITY “SONGS OF THE SWORD” was released and garnered attention.
Friday NightLEGAL RUSH

A three-piece band blazing out of Nagoya, Aichi, LEGAL RUSH is a melodic punk band formed in 2018.
Their appeal lies in a high-velocity sound and emotional melodies.
They made their nationwide debut with their first mini-album “uprising 052,” released in August 2022, and followed up with their second mini-album “MAGIC HOUR” in September 2023.
Their talent was recognized early on, including being selected as a venue representative artist at the 2019 music event Mudia.
In December 2023, they disbanded to much regret.
