Swimmy is a rock band from Shiga Prefecture formed in 2011.

Their signature song “Acchi Muite” was used as the theme for the anime Gintama°, so many of you may have heard it.

Until drummer Mikke left the band in 2017, the group featured a distinctive triple-vocal setup with guitarist Takumi and bassist Mao.

Since then, leveraging their mixed male-female twin vocals, they have produced a wide range of music—from danceable, catchy tracks to songs with a fantastical atmosphere.

Climbgrow is a four-piece rock band from Shiga Prefecture.

True to their band name, which means “upstarts,” they wield an aggressive, bluesy rock sound and continue to perform energetically based out of their local live houses.

They have a wild, garage feel reminiscent of mid-period Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, and their rugged, masculine sound is actually rare among the new generation.

You can really feel the momentum of Shiga’s bands.

Precisely because it’s the Reiwa era, they’re a band whose future success is especially exciting to anticipate.

Since forming in 2017, they’ve won empathy with down-to-earth lyrics and have been energetically active, focusing on live circuits.

They debuted in 2018 with the mini-album “harmony,” and the following year, a tweet by Chiharu sparked over 20,000 likes.

The buzz on social media also boosted sales of their recordings, and the members’ lyrics—based on real-life experiences—together with their lapis-lazuli-colored harmony work have expanded a circle of resonance, especially among young women.

With candid emotional expression and refined performances, nolala delivers music that strikes the heart—making them a perfect band for music fans seeking songs steeped in delicate feelings.

Tokyosugar’N’spice

Formed while the members were attending Osaka University, this girl band is known for its energetic performance style and is often said to be more “manly” on stage than male bands.

Ranging from gritty rock sounds to tear-jerking melodies, they stick firmly to their own style.
