Recommended parent-child competitions with a food theme (1–10)
Gather round, little sushi!

A parent-child competition where both start at the same time and aim for the goal while making sushi.
Along the way, the child, carrying the sushi topping on their back, gets piggybacked, and once they take the hat modeled after wasabi and finally sit on the plate, they reach the goal—letting you enjoy the rule of literally completing a piece of sushi together.
Because there are more steps than in a typical piggyback race, both participants and spectators can forget about winning and just have fun.
It’s adorable to see them gradually turn into a piece of sushi—a parent-child event everyone at the venue can enjoy.
Goldfish Moving Operation

A goldfish moving mission: place handmade goldfish on a large scooper and, as parent and child, transfer them to another tank.
Because it’s a team-based challenge that families attempt together, it’s sure to heat up any kindergarten or nursery school sports day! You won’t be able to take your eyes off the adorable children in festival happi coats taking on the goldfish scooping.
Since it’s an activity you can do indoors, it’s perfect for a rainy-day sports day, too.
It’s a unique event that puts a twist on goldfish scooping, a classic symbol of summer.
We also recommend setting the mood with festival-style background music.
Sushi Picnic

This is a parent-child activity.
You and your child transform into the sushi written on a card, and then the child crosses a balance beam to the finish.
To transform into sushi, the child wears the sushi topping shown on the card on their back like a backpack, and the parent gives the child a piggyback ride.
After going around a cone once, cross the balance beam.
This activity includes multiple elements: searching for your assigned sushi topping, parent-child bonding through piggybacking, and measuring physical ability on the balance beam.
Give it a try!
Lick of ice cream

Aim for the goal while keeping your balance! Here’s an idea for “Ice Cream Lick.” It’s a fun relay perfect for a 5-year-old’s sports day, featuring a quirky, eye-catching ice cream with lots of impact.
Place a large ice cream made from colored plastic bags on a giant cone, and carry it to the finish while maintaining balance! Kids can enjoy it as a relay on their own, or you can adapt it into a parent-child event.
Work together and head for the goal!
Let’s make a bento bus
This is an activity with a familiar lunchbox theme that children and their guardians can enjoy together.
After choosing their favorite ingredients from illustrations like rice balls and rolled omelets, the children hold their chosen items and move to a bus made of cardboard and get on board.
When the guardian pulls the bus by hand to move it, everyone adds the ingredients to a shared lunchbox that the whole sports day group is creating together.
Finally, the activity ends when the children and guardians move forward together to the finish tape.
It’s an event where children can experience both the fun of walking on their own and riding in the bus to get around.
Nice shot in the golf game

Let’s make it with newspaper and toilet paper rolls! Here’s a “nice shot” idea for playing golf.
Golf is, of course, a sport played in nature using clubs and balls.
This time, we’re sharing a fun idea that lets you enjoy golf with your child by using newspaper and toilet paper rolls together with a parent or guardian! Working toward a goal together with your child can deepen your bond and create wonderful moments.
Give it a try!
Sushi Picnic
@piyopiyo0519 I don’t dislike that quality. Mom loves youThey say it doesn't look like sushi once you sit down.Sports DayWe couldn’t do it this year.#Nursery school
Original song – Susu – Susu
You won’t be able to take your eyes off the kids’ adorable antics! Here are some ideas for a sushi-themed picnic.
Many people struggle to come up with food-themed events, right? In those moments, we recommend a “Sushi Picnic” that blends humor with cuteness.
Prepare boards with illustrations of about four types of sushi, and at the starting signal, have the kids flip a board.
Once they see which sushi topping is shown, they put on a backpack matching that topping and race toward the goal together with their guardian! Give it a try at your event.
