[BUCK-TICK’s Masterpieces] Popular Songs (21–30) from the Legendary Band with Overwhelming Presence
MiuBUCK-TICK

The 13th single released in 1999.
Its dark, laid-back progression, marked by acoustic guitar, is rendered with a heavy, venomous feel.
The title “Miu” apparently has no clear meaning, and what it evokes likely varies from person to person.
ROMANCEBUCK-TICK

BUCK-TICK’s 23rd single.
It was released in advance of the album “Juusankai wa Gekkou” (13th Floor with Moonlight).
I got the impression it sings of a love that’s a bit warped yet straightforward toward a beloved woman.
Although the song is in a decidedly minor key and feels dark, its gentle, mellow flow makes it very easy to listen to.
Fly HighBUCK-TICK

A song released in 1986, back when they were still indie, with a refreshingly bright guitar intro.
The overall sound conveys youthfulness and naiveté, making it a valuable track that lets you see this side of them.
While many artists stop performing their older songs, seeing them play it at recent shows is incredibly cool.
The world is filled with darkness.BUCK-TICK

A track included on the album “Or, Anarchy,” created around various avant-garde art themes.
It also carries the message that depending on how one perceives it, the meaning of darkness can change significantly—whether it evokes negative images like “anxiety,” or, including that, the unknown “possibility.”
MY EYES & YOUR EYESBUCK-TICK

A B-side track from the advance single “RENDEZVOUS” off the album “Tenshi no Revolver.” It is also a self-cover of a song that was included on their first album, “SEXUAL×××××!.” In a 2012 fan poll, it ranked first among songs excluding those from the Victor/Mercury era, making it a hidden gem highly popular among fans.
cherry blossomBUCK-TICK

This is a track included as the B-side to the single “JUPITER.” True to the imagery evoked by the title “Sakura,” Japanese scales are used in the guitar riff and melody, and together with a spatial sound approach, they create a dreamlike atmosphere.
Show-stopping beautyBUCK-TICK

The 29th single, released in 2010.
The four-on-the-floor drums are very striking, and while the song’s overall style follows BUCK-TICK’s classic lineage, it feels like it incorporates the popular beats of the 2010s.
A track that conveys their relentless, ever-evolving drive.
