JUST ONE MORE KISSBUCK-TICK

BUCK-TICK’s memorable debut single, released in 1988.
It’s a very catchy track without a dark or heavy vibe.
The members describe it as a “decadent love song.” What’s more, they didn’t feel any pressure about it being their first major release and reportedly wrote it in just one day—amazing!
…IN HEAVEN…BUCK-TICK

Although it was released in 1988, it remains one of the staple songs still performed live today.
Created during their shift toward a darker style, it takes “double suicide” as its theme, making it a track that foreshadows what would become their signature sound.
It’s an upbeat 8-beat tune and perfect for training a drummer’s right hand!
JUPITERBUCK-TICK

BUCK-TICK’s sixth single.
Following their fifth single, it was released as a single cut from the album “Kurutta Taiyou” (Lunatic Sun).
It was the first single to feature a song composed by guitarist Hidehiko Hoshino in the title slot.
It’s a fan favorite that frequently ranks high in fan polls, and it’s also noted for its use of a 12-string guitar.
A misunderstanding in trying to see the invisible—everything is a misunderstanding.BUCK-TICK

This song was released in 1995 as the 11th single.
It had already been included on the previously released 8th album, Six/Nine, but at the strong request of vocalist Atsushi Sakurai, the lyrics were completely revised and it was released as a single as well.
While the album version features abstract lyrics, the single version presents a more concrete story, so it’s fun to compare the two.
speedBUCK-TICK

As their fourth single, this track is, as the title suggests, a high-octane rock number.
Rather than having the kind of straightforward, catchy chorus typical of J-pop, it gives you the sense that the entire song is the chorus, thanks to its relentless drive.
The occasional accent phrases and tones are incredibly cool, too.
The clichéd chord progression feels satisfying, and you could say it’s a very well-crafted piece.
M.A.D.BUCK-TICK

Originally included under the title “MAD” on their sixth album Crazy Sun (1991), this track was later rearranged for its single release and retitled “M.A.D.” Around this period, BUCK-TICK began incorporating techno elements such as synthesizers and noise, further solidifying their unique identity as a band.
dieBUCK-TICK

After a fierce intro reminiscent of alternative rock, the song shifts into a folk-tinged piece that opens with acoustic guitar.
That said, the sporadically inserted psychedelic guitar and folk music-style phrases impart BUCK-TICK’s distinctive character.
The track was included as the final song on their seventh album, “darker than darkness -style 93-,” released in 1993, and was also issued as a single.
