Flowers of EvilBUCK-TICK

This is BUCK-TICK’s third single, released in 1990 as their first work after returning from a hiatus that began right after their debut.
It became their first song to top the Oricon charts and is one of their early signature tracks.
With its distinctive dark atmosphere, the song can be considered one of the works that laid the foundation for what would later be called visual kei rock.
BABELBUCK-TICK

As the first installment of the band’s 30th anniversary project, this is their 36th single, released in 2017.
The album No.0, which includes this track, made headlines by entering the top three of the Oricon chart—the band’s first time in 23 years.
Evoking the atmosphere of their early gothic rock while intricately intertwining elements of techno and industrial, the song truly encapsulates the band’s history.
STEPPERS ‐PARADE‐BUCK-TICK

A quintessential parade-sound track that begins with a drum roll.
This song served as the theme for the second part of BUCK-TICK’s documentary film “Gekijōban BUCK-TICK ~Bakuchiku Genshō~,” and played over the end credits.
With a sound that feels like it’s reveling in music with the whole body, it conveys a sense of conviction that pushes forward with strength.
From the Far East, with loveBUCK-TICK

After moving to the label BMG Funhouse, this was the second release and the twelfth album in total, included on “From the Far East, I LOVE YOU,” and later released as the lead single.
From the content of the lyrics and the words used, it makes you think that war may be the motif.
Of course, interpretations will vary from listener to listener.
Is it truly possible to love and cherish those who oppose us? Isn’t this a mindset more people should have? I feel like this speaks to contemporary society.
CoyoteBUCK-TICK

It’s a masterpiece whose dry lyricism strikes the heart, as if you can picture someone walking alone across a wilderness at dusk.
The distinct view of life and death characteristic of Atsushi Sakurai, who wrote the lyrics, is deeply reflected here, portraying the protagonist’s quiet resolve in the face of an unavoidable fate.
This track is included on the acclaimed album “memento mori,” released in February 2009.
Listen to it on a solitary, contemplative night or as a companion on a long drive, and you’ll find yourself immersed in a lingering afterglow—as if you’ve watched a film.

Succubus ~ The NightmareBUCK-TICK

This track appears near the end of BUCK-TICK’s standout concept album “Juusankai wa Gekkou,” released in April 2005.
It conjures a nightmare-like scene in which a wandering soul in the afterlife joins the procession of a hyakki-yagyō.
The dramatic development woven by the heavy band sound and ethereal sonics pulls the listener into a darkly beautiful realm.
A centerpiece of the band’s gothic live staging, it’s the perfect song for immersing yourself in a decadent, beautiful worldview.
Voo DooBUCK-TICK

Speaking of Sakurai-san, yes, he appears in the song “Angel and Devil” as well.
Voodoo refers to a religion that originated among Black people around the West Indies, and it carries a hint of something somewhat demonic or the scent of black magic.
The sound also conveys a touch of that sinister flavor.
