Renta! “Read This One” VersionRyuji Akiyama (Robert), Kotone Furukawa

The Renta! commercial “Read This” features Ryuji Akiyama of Robert and Kotone Furukawa.
Furukawa visits her favorite manga artist, but the selection is so good that she can’t decide what to choose, and she starts to get a little annoyed at her own indecisiveness.
Then Akiyama appears in the form of a mythic creature like a centaur! He shows her a manga available on Renta! on his smartphone and coolly declares, “Read this, and stop second-guessing.” Smitten by Akiyama, Furukawa blurts out, “I like you.” Akiyama looks delighted, even wagging his tail.
It’s a fun commercial with a wonderfully quirky worldview.
Renta! “Centaur” VersionRyuji Akiyama (Robert), Ryunosuke Kamiki

In Renta!’s commercial “Rentaur” featuring Ryuji Akiyama from Robert transformed not into a centaur but a “Rentaur,” and Ryunosuke Kamiki, Akiyama appears before Kamiki, who’s reading manga on his smartphone on a train.
He tells him, “I read the same manga, but you should read it on Renta! to get a good deal—make it work, man,” appealing to him.
He then performs a mysterious enka number to introduce Renta! It’s a chaotic scene, but it’s packed with a kind of meticulously crafted humor—like the horse-like Akiyama playing on “make it work” and the wordplay between “Renta!” and enka.
Just when it seems like the two are about to share a touching moment at the end, Akiyama makes sure to push the Renta! name to Kamiki one more time before it wraps up.
Renta! “I Want Energy” VersionRyuji Akiyama (Robert), Ryunosuke Kamiki

Kamiki visits his favorite manga artist, tries to grab a manga but fails, and confides that he’s been messing up a lot lately.
Akiyama approaches holding a smartphone with Renta! open and coolly encourages him, saying, “An offhand line might just change your life.” Kamiki feels lighter after hearing this, when Akiyama adds, “Though I did get turned into a horse.” Kamiki replies with a wry smile, but as he’s left puzzled by Akiyama’s cryptic “Right?”, the commercial abruptly ends.
Renta! “Renta! Rental Check” VersionTsuyoshi Kusanagi, Ryunosuke Kamiki

Tsuyoshi Kusanagi of Atarashii Chizu and Ryunosuke Kamiki appear in Renta!’s commercial “Renta! Rental Check.” As Kamiki tries to search for the original manga of the movie he’s watching, Kusanagi bursts through the wall of the house—his torso transformed into a smartphone! To the familiar Renta! jingle, he sings, “If there’s a manga you want to read, do a rental check on Renta!” Taking his cue, Kamiki starts searching on the smartphone that is Kusanagi’s torso.
But since the phone is technically his body, Kusanagi gets ticklish every time Kamiki scrolls.
When they finally find the title he wants, Kusanagi looks relieved.
The commercial ends with the two of them singing Renta!’s promotional song together.
