Wonderful school festival / cultural festival

A catalog of recommended festival booths for school culture festivals, with ideas that will shine on social media.

Have you already decided what your class or club will do for your school’s cultural festival or school festival booth?

Even if you’re serving food, there are countless menu options, and if it’s not food, it can be hard to decide what to offer.

In this article, we’ll introduce a wide range of ideas: not only classic food and drink booths, but also interactive booths like games.

We’ve compiled everything from staple booths at cultural festivals to slightly unusual ideas, so be sure to use this as a reference!

Games and Stalls (11–20)

omikuji (a Japanese fortune slip typically drawn at Shinto shrines or Buddhist temples)

Let’s set out various kinds of omikuji fortune slips and get everyone talking! Not only store-bought omikuji, but making your own can be fun, too.

Think up irresistible themes together—like love fortunes, future fortunes, or grades fortunes.

You can also get creative with how to hand them out: choose a fortune by shooting an arrow at targets, spin a roulette wheel to draw one, and more!

Lucky Ball

When I ran a game with a 0.0% success rate at the summer festival... the unexpected happened... [Annual Summer Festival Volunteer]
Lucky Ball

Lucky Ball is a game whose play style and format vary by region.

Similar attractions are popular at places like Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan.

You set up cups or create a grid of holes in a board as targets, then throw balls about the size of a baseball.

Decide your own rules—like landing the ball in targets of designated colors or lining up balls vertically and horizontally like bingo.

As long as you can throw a ball, anyone can enjoy it, regardless of age or gender, making it perfect for a culture festival with a wide range of attendees.

Don’t forget to prepare some headline-worthy prizes!

Gem scooping

[Food Stall] Cheese hot dog with super stretchy cheese!! Tsum Tsum balls and jewel scooping★
Gem scooping

Shops where you scoop something—like goldfish scooping or super ball scooping—really spark people’s competitive spirit.

The key is making them think, “I could do that too!” So how about a glittering gemstone scoop? The gems you scoop can be toy gemstones—no problem! Mixing in ring-shaped candies might make it even more exciting!

Find Wally in the school

Find Wally in the school

As the name suggests, we’ll send several organizers dressed as Wally around the school, and anyone who finds and catches one will receive a certificate or a prize.

We could hand out a sample picture and also slip in decoys—like someone with slightly different-colored socks—and make it a fun twist by giving a penalty game to those who catch the wrong person.

Games & Food Stalls (21–30)

Body paint

Body paint

As a booth idea for the school festival, body painting is quite unique, isn’t it? It doesn’t cost much and it’s a fun way to liven things up.

Create an atmosphere everyone can enjoy and give it a try.

Approach it like letting people enjoy a bit of casual art.

Go for cute, Instagrammable designs and incorporate seasonal motifs—more people are sure to love it.

Accessories, small goods, and shops made with a 3D printer

Accessories, small goods, and shops made with a 3D printer

In just the past few years, 3D printers have suddenly become much more accessible.

Using them, you can offer not just on-the-spot sales but on-the-spot creation: a one-stop service from custom orders to production and sales of original goods such as accessories, small items, and interior decor.

Massage

I tried an extremely painful foot reflexology massage!
Massage

This is recommended for sports-oriented club booths.

You can simply offer regular massages, and for girls who feel a bit uncomfortable massaging men, it would be considerate to have them massage only other girls.

If you set it up so that women who want to be massaged by a man can state it themselves, you shouldn’t get complaints.

Line up desks, cover them with sheets, and as long as you have pillows, a classroom quickly turns into a massage parlor.

You could also offer just foot massages—and it might be fun to let people experience the pain of reflexology.
