Handmade okonomiyaki craft
@n.annlee321 I already posted how to make okonomiyaki before. ☺️✨#HandmadeToysSummer Vacation CraftChildcare

Let’s try making okonomiyaki and yakisoba—just like the ones you see at summer festival stalls—using craft materials! Here, we mainly introduce how to make the griddle and spatula.
Feel free to create the okonomiyaki and yakisoba themselves using yarn, felt, and other materials.
For the griddle, cut 2 cm-wide strips from both long edges of a color foam board and attach silver origami paper to them.
Then cover the remaining center piece with black construction paper to form the griddle surface, and glue it between the cut side pieces.
Also attach 1 cm-wide strips of silver origami along the top and bottom edges of the griddle.
Draw in the vent openings, and it’s complete! For the spatula, cut a milk carton into a spatula shape and cover it with aluminum foil—that’s all you need!
Flower Hand-cranked Spinning Top

Let’s make a hand-spun top that you spin vigorously with your hand, designed with a cute, flower-inspired look.
We’ll use a disposable chopstick as the top’s axle, and wrap long, folded strips of paper around it to form the shape of the top.
Everyone should clearly imagine their favorite flower and think about which colors of paper will best match that flower.
Wrapping the paper tightly is the key to making the whole piece sturdy and ensuring it spins well.
Super Ball keychain

Let’s make a sparkly candy keychain! Super balls are usually made from rubber or similar materials, and when thrown, they bounce very high—making them a popular toy among kids.
This time, let’s use a super ball to create a keychain.
You’ll need a super ball, an awl, a lollipop stick, a hot glue gun, craft adhesive, decorative materials, and keychain hardware.
Simply poke a hole in the super ball, insert the stick, and attach the parts—an easy idea! It’s sure to delight kids who love cute motifs.
Hand soap slime

This is a super stretchy, ultra-chewy slime made by adding foaming hand soap! Mix 200 ml of laundry glue with 2 tablespoons of white craft glue until well combined.
Add about 20 pumps of foaming hand soap and mix, then add a few drops of ink if you like.
Once you’ve got the color you want, gradually add borax water—made by dissolving 1 teaspoon of borax in 300 ml of lukewarm water—kneading as you go.
Knead by squeezing and stretching until it reaches your preferred firmness, and your hand soap slime is ready! Try adding modeling clay for a different texture.
water clock

Let’s try making a water clock using small empty plastic bottles! A water clock looks like an hourglass, but instead of sand inside, you use items like gel beads.
These days, you can find colorful ball-shaped air fresheners at 100-yen shops; using those makes it easy.
Prepare two empty bottles, fill one with the air freshener beads, apply adhesive or hot glue around the mouth, and place the other empty bottle on top.
Once the glue dries, wrap the joint securely with vinyl tape, and you’re done.
It’s a fun project to watch, and the gentle vibration as the beads plop down is enjoyable too.
Plastic bottle bracelet

Let’s make a very summery, cute, and sparkly bracelet! Believe it or not, the material is a plastic bottle.
Cut an empty plastic bottle into strips about 2–3 cm wide, then press the cut edges against an iron to round them off.
Be careful to avoid burns when using the iron.
Once the edges are rounded, paint the inside with your favorite nail polish.
After it dries, decorate the outside with rhinestone stickers or similar embellishments, and you’re done.
It’s also fun to make matching ones with your friends.
stuffed animal

Don’t you feel like making a plushie of your favorite character or one you’ve designed yourself using felt? Here’s an idea for a “plushie” you can make without sewing.
All you need is double-sided fabric tape, which you can find in the craft section of 100-yen shops.
Start by creating a pattern.
Use tracing paper to make even the small parts like the eyes and nose.
Then just cut the felt according to the pattern and stick the pieces together with the fabric tape.
Finally, stuff the body with filling and seal it with the double-sided tape, and you’re done! They’re so cute you might end up wanting to make a bunch of them.
