[Recommended] Short, easy-to-sing Japanese karaoke songs

I think there are quite a few people who aren’t good with karaoke, but sometimes you just can’t turn it down because of social obligations.

What’s more, there may be situations where, once you go, you can’t get away without singing at least one song.

So, I’m going to introduce some short songs that are easy to sing even for those who aren’t comfortable with karaoke!

Most of the songs I’m about to introduce are a little over three minutes long, but some are around two minutes.

Long songs can be tough for people who aren’t confident about singing, but you might be able to manage a short one!

Also, feel free to use this as a reference when choosing the final song as your room time is about to run out.

Fight!!Harukamirai

Youthful punk bursting with passion! It’s a song by Harukamirai, included on their album “Hoshikuzu no Uta,” released in November 2017.

At just about a minute long, it packs a powerful punch that shakes the listener’s heart.

It carries uplifting messages—like a fiery cheer for friends and the importance of living true to yourself.

Seems perfect as the first song to sing at karaoke, don’t you think?

Wasure ran nee yo is a band that’s gained popularity with its sharp rock sound and comical lyrics.

They’re especially supported by guys in their teens and twenties.

Among their songs, the one I particularly recommend for people who aren’t confident in singing is “Did Nothing for Two Hours.” While it’s on the slightly higher side vocally, the melody is easy to remember, and you don’t need to sing it perfectly clean, so overall it’s a low-difficulty song.

The fact that it’s very short is also one of the reasons it’s easy to sing.

Let’s go!! Rider KickFujioka Hiroshi

This is the earliest theme song from the wildly popular Showa-era tokusatsu drama Kamen Rider—so famous it hardly needs any introduction.

It’s a classic tune that just about everyone has heard at least once, and with the 2023 remake Shin Kamen Rider doing so well, I’ve deliberately chosen it in the spirit of riding that wave of popularity.

The singer, Hiroshi Fujioka—needless to say, the actor who played Kamen Rider No.

1—has a wonderfully soothing, deep voice.

Don’t overthink it; just tap into your inner kid, sing along, and enjoy! With the Shin Kamen Rider film performing strongly right now, it’s sure to be a welcome, timely pick.

It’s a refreshing song with a light, upbeat rhythm, and it’s a short piece of about a minute and a half.

The length makes it easy to sing at karaoke, so I highly recommend it! However, the lyrics are imbued with criticism and irony toward modern society, reflecting Kazutoshi Sakurai’s meticulous craft.

It can be called a hidden gem.

NiziU has drawn a lot of attention ever since their pre-debut project launch show.

This song, “Make you happy,” was released as a pre-debut track before their official debut.

Even though it was labeled as pre-debut, it naturally became a hot topic and is widely known across different age groups—you often hear it on TV and around town.

The song is about three minutes long, so it’s on the shorter side.

It’s one of those tracks that you can’t help but hum along to, and you could even just go ahead and dance to it and get the excitement going!

TravelersOfisharu Higedan Dism

Known by the nickname “Higedan,” Official HIGE DANDism is a four-piece piano pop band that has churned out hit after hit with their impactful melodies and songs.

This track, included on their first album “Traveler,” is under two minutes long, yet it’s packed with the band’s charm and musical depth.

With its melodic rises and falls and irregular rhythms, it’s not an easy song, but if you can nail it despite its brevity, you’re sure to earn respect.

It’s also an easy pick as a warm-up before singing other Higedan songs, making it a recommended choice even for those who aren’t confident at karaoke.

It's not loveDAZBEE

DAZBEE is a Korean singer who has gained popularity for her perfect pronunciation and sexy vocals.

If you’re not familiar with her, you might have thought she was Japanese.

Among her songs, one I especially recommend is “Not Love.” It’s a short track, about 2 minutes and 15 seconds long, and the vocal line is generally kept at a low difficulty level.

If you find the original challenging, try singing it in a key that suits you.
