Paku-Paku Goldfish
https://www.tiktok.com/@hoiku.labo/video/7250014056122207490For the hot summer, a great recommendation for preschoolers is the “Munch-Munch Goldfish” origami.
Fold it, open it up, and move its mouth, and it looks just like a goldfish from a scooping game swimming around.
Use cool-colored origami paper for a fresh look that instantly boosts the summer vibe.
Once finished, kids can show their goldfish to friends or use them for pretend play—the possibilities are endless.
Many children get hooked and say, “I want to make another one!” fostering imagination while using their fingertips.
Display them on the wall to instantly create a nostalgic atmosphere.
It’s an origami idea full of seasonal charm—fun to fold, delightful to display, and memorable too.

Let’s make a cute, plump goldfish.
Up to a point, this follows the same steps as folding a balloon.
Fold the origami so that two triangles overlap, then fold the two corners of one triangle up to meet the top corner.
Fold the left and right corners of the diamond formed in the center toward the center line, then fold down the two corners you just lifted and tuck them inside.
Turn the paper over, fold the left and right edges of the triangle toward the center line, and on the left side only, fold the bottom corner up at a right angle.
Glue it to the right side as is to form the tail fin.
Blow air into the balloon section to inflate it, add eyes, and your goldfish is complete.

Let’s have fun creating an ocean scene using bubble wrap as cushioning material.
First, cut the bubble wrap into circles and stick them onto construction paper.
Be sure to leave some gaps between them.
Once you’ve painted the bubble wrap with colors, imagine them as octopuses, turtles, or fish, and use paint to add legs or heads around the bubble wrap.
Finally, stick on googly-eye stickers to finish.
It’s also cute and recommended to draw seaweed in the empty spaces or use holographic round stickers to represent bubbles in the water.

Let’s make a summery “Sea Creatures Tapestry.” We’ll create three creatures: a fish, a jellyfish, and an octopus.
For the fish, put crumpled tissue paper into a clear plastic bag, tie it with a pipe cleaner, then secure the corners with tape.
For the jellyfish, stuff a clear plastic bag with tissue paper, shape it into a round form with tape, and attach shredded curling ribbon to make the tentacles.
Make the octopus the same way: put tissue paper in a bag and tie it with a pipe cleaner.
For the base, thread a string through a straw, wrap the straw with curling ribbon, and then attach the creatures to complete the tapestry.
Whale Shark Sticker Activity

Speaking of popular creatures at aquariums, whale sharks are a top favorite! Watching them glide leisurely in a huge tank really gives you a sense of the ocean’s vastness.
Let’s make a whale shark while having fun with stickers.
First, create the whale shark’s parts out of construction paper and glue them together.
Color the mouth area white, draw the face, then add patterns by sticking on white round stickers.
And that’s it—your whale shark is complete! You can also switch up the sticker colors to add your own personal touch.
Aquarium building

As we spend more time indoors during the summer, why not take this opportunity to enjoy some focused crafting with your children? This time, we’re introducing an aquarium-making activity.
Aquariums, where you can see a variety of creatures up close, are full of charm for kids.
By creating their own aquariums, children can nurture their creativity and expressive skills.
Prepare familiar materials like paper plates and plastic bottles, and let the children cut and paste according to their own ideas and images—this helps develop fine motor skills and spatial awareness.
It’s great to carry out the activity while valuing children’s free-thinking and flashes of inspiration.
We hope you’ll give it a try!

The opening and closing mouth is so cute! Let me introduce a fun idea for a chompy little fish.
Fish often appear on the dining table, but they also show up a lot in anime, picture books, fingerplay, and songs.
This time, let’s make an adorable fish with a mouth that opens and closes using origami! You’ll need origami paper, round stickers, a permanent marker, and so on.
Solid-color origami looks lovely, but using your favorite patterns or holographic origami will give your fish extra personality.
