Little Brown Jug

This commercial features Shinichi Tsutsumi and Yuriko Ishida—familiar faces from previous ads—enjoying the Soft Brew, a variation of Kirin Ichiban, Kirin Brewery’s flagship product, introduced in autumn 2023.
The background music is the well-known “Little Brown Jug,” composed by Eastburn in 1869 and made famous by Glenn Miller’s cover.
It’s a beloved jazz standard.
Little Brown Jug

This is a commercial where Tomoya Nakamura and Ryo Katsuji play coworkers drinking Ichiban Shibori at an izakaya.
When Nakamura calls it “an ordinary beer,” Katsuji passionately explains why Ichiban Shibori is anything but ordinary.
Hearing this, Nakamura is convinced, and the ad ends with the two toasting and drinking with relish—an especially memorable moment.
The familiar tune Little Brown Jug is used as the BGM, but this time it’s arranged with a relaxed tempo featuring guitar and brass instruments.
Les Champs-ÉlyséesJoe Dassin

This is a commercial for Kirin Ichiban Shibori celebrating its 35th anniversary.
The cast features familiar faces including Shinichi Tsutsumi and Hikari Mitsushima.
It shows everyone drinking Kirin Ichiban Shibori and sharing their impressions, resulting in a very friendly, cheerful atmosphere.
The CM’s background music uses a brass arrangement of “Les Champs-Élysées,” an arrangement notable for its glamorous sound that perfectly complements the refined melody.

Les Champs-ÉlyséesJoe Dassin

This commercial features six celebrities speaking directly and sincerely about their wish for beer to taste truly delicious.
From each of their perspectives, the ad conveys a passionate desire for new experiences and for savoring great flavor.
While the celebrities’ feelings take center stage, portraying them so straightforwardly also expresses a commitment to living up to Kirin Beer’s aspirations.
The song that further elevates the atmosphere of the commercial is “Les Champs-Élysées.” Its gentle rhythm, like a leisurely stroll through town, leaves a strong impression and clearly communicates a sense of relaxation.
With the layers of instrumental timbres blending richly, the music evokes an image of fun, shared moments with friends.
Why Can’t We Be FriendsWar

The Kirin Spring Valley commercial “How to Drink Beer,” featuring Takayuki Yamada, has been crafted for adults, with him talking about the depth of flavor.
Beyond its content, what left a strong impression on viewers was the powerful singing.
The song is “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” performed by the legendary funk band War.

As Hana Toyoshima is about to head out and says, “I’m off!”, Yuki Amami, playing her mother, stops her with, “Hold on—you’re underdressed!” Worried that Toyoshima is lightly dressed despite the cold winter, she helps her put on a coat and scarf.
She also adds a plug that tasty immune care is recommended for winter health management.
You can feel the desire for “a truly healthy winter this year.”

This is the “Change of Seasons” segment, depicting a heartwarming exchange between Yuki Amami and Hana Toyoshima, who play a mother and daughter.
As she sends her off in the morning, Amami hands her a tasty immune-care drink, saying, “You need to be careful because it’s easy to get sick when the seasons change.” She keeps repeating, “When the seasons change…” so much that what started as a farewell at the front door ends with her unconsciously following her all the way outside—leading to the punchline.
Toyoshima’s line, “How far are you going to follow me?” draws a laugh.
The BGM is the children’s song “Hasami Togi,” based on an Italian folk tune, arranged to give a light, upbeat feel that enhances the commercial’s atmosphere.
