A must-see for low-voiced women! Popular songs that are easy to sing at karaoke
These days, many songs for both women and men are in higher keys, so there are probably many women with lower voices who feel, “I can’t find songs I can sing because my voice is low,” or “I’m looking for lower-key songs for karaoke.” Forcing yourself to sing songs that don’t suit your natural voice can hurt your throat, and it can be stressful when you can’t sing the way you want.
But don’t worry! There are plenty of songs that sound captivating even with a low voice.

Male Artists (71–80)
Winter is starting.Makihara Noriyuki

This is the fourth single by Japanese singer Noriyuki Makihara, released on November 10, 1991.
It was also used as the Sapporo Beer “Fuyu Monogatari” (Winter Story) commercial song in 1991 and 2008.
With its lightly bouncy rhythm, it’s a bright winter tune that I think would be really fun to sing at karaoke.
As for Makihara’s vocals, he himself has a gentle voice with a lot of high overtones for a male vocalist, and the song’s key is relatively high for a male track, so it’s one of the best choices for women with lower voices to pick at karaoke.
You can probably sing it in the original key, so definitely give it a try!
Bunny GirlAKASAKI

The song “Bunny Girl” became such a hit that there’s hardly a day you don’t hear it on Instagram or TikTok.
It’s a signature work by the young singer-songwriter AKASAKI, and it went viral through social media.
While the overall feel is very light, the vocal line surprisingly sits mostly in the lower range, and the overall range is quite narrow.
That means even women who struggle with high notes can sing it without any problem.
If you want it to sound even better, try singing as if you’re directing your breath forward.
LemonYonezu Kenshi

It’s a song with a slightly minor-key, melancholic melody and overall tone that’s incredibly appealing.
The vocal melody is very easy to sing and remember, and even years after its release, it’s easy to see why this track is still loved by so many people in Japan—it’s that well-crafted.
While it doesn’t rely heavily on high tones throughout, it does showcase key high notes at important moments, especially in the chorus.
Men who are good with high notes may find it easy to sing, and I think the key is also comfortable for lower-voiced women.
Melody8LOOM

8LOOM is a seven-member boy group that appeared within the TV drama “Kimi no Hana ni Naru,” which aired in TBS’s Tuesday Drama slot from October 18 to December 20, 2022, and later made a real—albeit time-limited—debut.
The song ‘Melody’ introduced here is their third single, released digitally in September 2022.
All the members of 8LOOM have charming, youthful-sounding voices, so I thought their songs could be perfect karaoke picks for lower-voiced women, and decided to feature them here.
When singing, try placing the resonance toward the upper palate inside your mouth; I think that will help you capture a nuance closer to the original.
Give it a try if you choose this song at karaoke.
glass windowKing Gnu

It’s King Gnu’s 17th digital-only single, released in September 2023.
It was selected as the theme song for the film “Don’t Call It Mystery.” The pervasive sense of melancholy throughout the track is very striking, isn’t it? King Gnu’s vocalist Daiki Tsuneta has an androgynous voice that might make first-time listeners think, “Is this a female vocalist?” That’s part of his appeal.
When singing this song at karaoke and trying to capture the feel of the original, I think lower-voiced women might be especially well-suited.
However, if the vocal delivery becomes too heavy, it can undermine the song’s unique atmosphere, so be sure to sing with an overall light touch.
