Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register
In recent years, Japan’s music scene has seen an increase in songs with lots of high notes, influenced by K-pop.
As a result, it’s become harder for men with lower voices to find songs that suit them.
So! We’ve selected recommended tracks specifically for men with deep voices.
We also considered how well these songs go over at karaoke, so if you’re planning to go with a group soon, be sure to check them out.

Karaoke Songs Recommended for Men with Deep Voices and Strong Low Range (71–80)
HIRAKEGOMANumber_i

Number_i’s classic track “HIRAKEGOMA.” Number_i consistently releases unique hip-hop, and this song is no exception, featuring distinctive lyrics and a tricky flow.
Because of the unusual flow, it’s not exactly an easy song, but among their tracks, it’s still relatively singable.
Sho Hirano’s verse is a rap part that emphasizes low tones, so when you perform it, it’s good to highlight his section.
It also tends to be well-received by women, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
Song of Greensoshina

In addition to his work as a comedian, Soshina is also active as a YouTuber and an artist.
He releases music consistently and has a few hits to his name.
Among his songs, the one I particularly recommend is Midori no Uta (The Green Song).
It’s a punk rock-based track sung entirely in a gravelly voice.
Despite its intensity, it actually has a fairly narrow vocal range, with most of the singing in the low to low-mid register.
It’s an ideal song for showcasing the richness of a man with a low voice.
JingleYuuma

Yuma, who is active as the “good singer” of the YouTuber group Comdot, has a track called Jingle that my students often sang when their throats weren’t in great shape because it’s “easy to sing,” so I think it’s in a range that’s easy for others too.
Jingle’s vocal range is B2 to D#4, staying mostly in the low to mid range.
Of course, it builds from verse A to verse B to the chorus, but unlike other songs, the range doesn’t change much, so it might be easier to keep pitch.
It’s a perfect song for winter, so start practicing it now!
Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or strong lower registers (81–90)
hanashiTENDRE

Taro Kawahara’s solo project, TENDRE.
It’s pronounced “tender,” not “tendore.” Its stylish musicality is popular and highly regarded by hardcore music enthusiasts.
Among TENDRE’s tracks, the one I especially recommend is “hanashi.” It’s similar in musical style to Gen Hoshino’s work, blending a wistful J-pop vibe with neo-soul elements.
While it’s not a bass-heavy track, the vocal range is narrow and the groove is strong, so lowering the key can make the low notes really shine.
Tweak the key just enough to avoid overdoing it, and definitely give it a try.
Night of 15Ozaki Yutaka

A song released in 1983 by singer-songwriter Yutaka Ozaki.
The key isn’t very high, so it’s easy to sing even for men with lower voices.
If you sing it while recalling the anguish, anger, and frustration of your teenage years, the lyrics will likely carry even more conviction.
planetariumBUMP OF CHICKEN

This is BUMP OF CHICKEN’s ninth single, released in July 2005.
The song gives the impression of a medium-tempo pop-rock tune, and I think it’s a very easy choice to sing for karaoke.
The vocal melody doesn’t span a particularly wide range, so many men who aren’t comfortable with high notes should still be able to sing it in the original key.
There are a few higher parts in the chorus, but if you avoid pushing your voice and sing with a slightly laid-back, nonchalant feel, it will likely sound even better.
nudityHINONABE

HINONABE is a four-piece rock band based in Chiba Prefecture.
Since performing at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024, they’ve been drawing attention in the Japanese rock scene.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is this very “ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024.” The track is infused with the dark worldview they excel at.
In line with that theme, the vocal lines are built primarily around lower registers.
Combined with the sultry, dark lyrics, it’s a piece that will bring out the full potential of lower male voices.
