Karaoke songs recommended for men with low voices or who are good at singing in a low register

In recent years, Japan’s music scene has seen an increase in songs with lots of high notes, influenced by K-pop.

As a result, it’s become harder for men with lower voices to find songs that suit them.

So! We’ve selected recommended tracks specifically for men with deep voices.

We also considered how well these songs go over at karaoke, so if you’re planning to go with a group soon, be sure to check them out.

SyrupShimizu Shota

SyrupShimizu Shota

Shota Shimizu’s new song “Syrup.” Shimizu is known for his music that prominently incorporates authentic R&B, and while this track retains those elements, it’s shaped into a lighter, more modern R&B style.

He isn’t necessarily a low-voiced artist, but since most of this song sits in the mid-to-low range, it should really showcase the appeal of male singers with lower voices.

It’s also recommended to intentionally lower the key to emphasize the low end even more.

waxing; filling up; becoming full; growing (e.g., the moon growing fuller)Fuji Kaze

Fujii Kaze is a singer-songwriter who has gained nationwide popularity for his catchy and stylish sound that blends R&B with pop.

He has many hit songs, but the one I especially recommend for men with lower voices is Michite Yuku.

It’s an ennui-tinged track that mixes a slightly jazzy pop style with R&B-flavored vocals, with the low range emphasized throughout.

Among his songs, this one has a relatively narrow vocal range, so give it a try.

Alexandros is a rock band that has been active since the 2000s.

Since entering the 2020s, they’ve further refined their stylistic breadth, releasing hits that differ in taste each time.

Among their songs, the one I particularly recommend is “Coffee Float (feat.

hard life).” It’s a work that feels like a mix of indie rock and artcore, featuring fast-paced percussion, while the vocal line is relatively monotone and emphasizes the lower register.

It’s exceptionally easy to sing and highlights a deeper voice, so consider adding it to your repertoire.

Right now, when it comes to songs in the low-voice category, isn’t “Moe Chakka Fire” the most popular? Its popularity is incredible—on YouTube it has racked up over 40 million views.

The real charm of this track is, above all, the low register.

The entire song is colored by deep tones, and within that, there are sections that go even lower.

Those parts are so overwhelmingly low that only a limited number of people can sing them, but it’s definitely a perfect piece for showcasing the appeal of a deep male voice.

Since karaoke microphones tend to have poor sound quality, I recommend singing not in a breathy whisper, but with a slightly more classical, supported tone that has a solid core.

gardenFuji Kaze

Fujii Kaze – Garden (Not a MV)
gardenFuji Kaze

A 2022 work by Fujii Kaze, who delivers genius-level performances not only in singing but also on piano and saxophone.

The vocals are notable for their rich midrange, setting them apart from the recent trend of high-tone singing.

There are some tricks, such as the sudden key change in the second chorus, but overall the song progresses calmly while gradually building in intensity.

Mastering the beautiful falsetto in the final section is the key to success.

You’ll also need the technique of subtly bending the pitch that appears at the ends of phrases from time to time.

In the first half, sing gently and with restraint, and aim to gradually heat up as the song goes on.

People who can’t hit high notes often struggle with today’s trend of songs packed with soaring vocals.

At the same time, many still want to sing the latest tracks at karaoke, right? For those people, I recommend BON.

It’s the new song by the hot group Number_i, rooted in hip-hop.

Since the flow stays in a low register throughout, it’s no exaggeration to say it’s actually a great fit for men with lower voices.

DrunkPamiredo

Pamiredo (パミレド) – Drunk
DrunkPamiredo

If you’re looking for a stylish, sexy track that lets your low register shine, we recommend “Drunk.” It’s a song by the enigmatic singer-songwriter Pamiredo, featuring a very sultry melody right from the intro.

The vocal line sits consistently in the low to low-mid range, and even the more expressive sections are quiet and low, making it a perfect choice to highlight the appeal of men with deep voices.

Consider adding it to your repertoire.
