A letter to meZukai

Zukai is a band that’s drawing particular attention in Japan’s indie rock scene.
They’re a group rooted in authentic indie rock, and their well-defined sound has earned them a devoted core following.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is “A Letter to Me.” It may sound high at first, but the actual vocal range is quite narrow, and it doesn’t require foundational techniques like vibrato or falls.
If you’re aiming for a perfect score, definitely add it to your repertoire.
So, I got sunburned.Sasagawa Mao

Singer-songwriter Mao Sasagawa, recognized even by Tatsuya Kitani, originally worked as a Vocaloid producer under the name mao sasagawa and is known for exceptional composition skills.
Among Sasagawa’s songs, the one I especially recommend is “Therefore, It’s Scorched.” While distinctive, it has a very narrow vocal range and gentle melodic contour, making it perfect for aiming for a 100-point score.
Riding the sound so hard it hurtsSugaya Ayume

A newcomer artist whose breathy vocals and catchy sound are rapidly gaining momentum, Yua Sugaya.
He already has a few hit tunes under his belt, but the one I especially recommend is “Ride the Sound Till It Hurts.” It’s a bright, upbeat track, yet surprisingly the vocal line’s pitch movement is gentle, and the long tones aren’t all that long.
If you track the pitch accurately, it’s a song where you can easily aim for a perfect score.

sonetACIDMAN

Within its grand melody, this song holds both the resolve to live boldly and a gentle tenderness.
Set against the vast nature of Hokkaido, it portrays life’s joys and sorrows through the moon and stars shining in the night sky, and the falling rain and snow.
Along the journey of chasing dreams, it leaves a deep afterglow that quietly speaks to the importance of living true to oneself.
The track was pre-released by ACIDMAN in December 2024, with the CD following in January 2025.
Chosen as the ending theme for the final episode of WOWOW’s drama “Renzoku Drama W Golden Kamuy — Hokkaido Tattooed Prisoner Contest Arc,” it is also complemented by striking footage shot on location in Hokkaido by film director Shigeaki Kubo.
When you stand at a crossroads in life or face an important decision, this is a song that will stay close to your heart.
ColorfulAMUGIRI

Popular YouTubers, Komudotto.
They may not be as explosively popular as they once were, but they are still widely supported—especially by teenage girls—so many teenage boys are likely familiar with them as well.
Among the songs by AMUGIRI, a member of Komudotto, the one I particularly recommend for men with lower voices is “Colorful.” It has a narrow vocal range, and the vocal lines are gently constructed with little fluctuation.
If you adjust it to the appropriate key, even boys going through voice change should be able to sing it without issue, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
366 daysHY

A masterpiece included on HY’s 2008 album “HeartY.” The lyrics, written by Izumi Nakasone based on her own experiences, are filled with feelings toward a former lover, and the song also drew attention as the theme for Fuji TV’s drama film “Red Thread.” The piano’s melody gently embraces the tune, richly expressing the pain of heartbreak and the emotions of carrying it onward.
With its calm rhythm and tender vocals, the warm tone of the song feels close to the listener’s heart, and its charm can be fully conveyed by a male vocalist as well.
It’s a song we especially recommend to those struggling to recover from a breakup or quietly holding feelings for someone important.
Dear, boyHump Back

A powerful rock number that portrays the conflicts and hopes of youth.
Based on notes vocalist Momoko Hayashi wrote in her teens, it’s a heartfelt track woven with memories of her high school bandmates.
Released in June 2018 as Hump Back’s major-label debut, it reached No.
13 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
It was also selected as the ending theme for Nippon TV’s “Buzz Rhythm 02” and used in commercials for Shinken Zemi’s High School Course.
With a driving melody and straightforward lyrics, its range isn’t too wide, making it easy for men to sing as well.
It’s a song you’ll want to belt out at karaoke with friends who are chasing their dreams, and get the crowd going.
