Music Festivals in May [2026]: Outdoor Festivals and Events Summary

SENDAI MUSIC FUSE is a circuit event born in the City of Trees, Sendai, built on the concept of “fuse = fusion,” with the desire to deliver various fusions of music, artists, the city, and audiences through live performances. Set across six venues in the city—Sendai Rensa, darwin, MACANA, ROCKATERIA, and LIVE HOUSE enn 2nd/3rd—acts such as Kujira Yoru no Machi, Eriho Nishi, and Masaya Matsumuro will perform. The event will be held on May 30, 2026.

Hibiya Music Festival is a free and borderless music festival centered around Hibiya Park, home to Yaon, the sacred ground of music that has shaped the history of outdoor concerts in Japan. The venues extend beyond Hibiya Park to Tokyo Midtown Hibiya and Tokyo International Forum Hall A. Aiming to provide high-quality music experiences across generations, genres, and tastes, it offers an admission-free space for parents, children, and grandchildren to enjoy together. SKY ORCHESTRA is an entertainment event where music and fireworks are perfectly synchronized, to be held in May 2026 to commemorate the 900th anniversary of Chiba’s founding and the 50th anniversary of Inage Beach. The venue is Inage Beach on the Mihama Ward shoreline. Around 20 of Japan’s top pyrotechnic companies—including winners from Omagari and Tsuchiura—will gather, with Great Sky Art directing the production. Comprising two parts, an opening live show and a main show, it offers a one-night-only program where the seaside scenery harmonizes with the music.
