Sendai Sax Festa is a music festival that puts the saxophone center stage, held at the Tsutsujigaoka Park Outdoor Music Hall in Miyagino Ward, Sendai. It is an open-call event where any saxophonist can participate regardless of ensemble or genre, and it is organized by the local music school sendai music place ROOTS. In 2026, it will take place on May 10, and the evening special guest stage will feature “en,” a saxophone quartet of professional players active in the Tohoku region.

The Earth Environment Eco Concert “Ocarina East Story” is a free outdoor concert by ocarina player EAST KIMURA. Rainbow Park Music Entertainment, which supports the initiative, was launched in 1997 as the music division of Daiichi Construction. Guided by the philosophy “People live with people, and live with nature,” it aims to share culture across borders and languages. The event will be held in May 2026 at the Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park Outdoor Theater, Global Ring Theatre.

The Hibiya Live Performance Award is a new award by Tokyo Midtown Hibiya that honors emerging talent. The Inzai Machinaka Music Festival is a community-driven music event held across 12 venues—including shopping malls and parks—around Inzai-Makinohara Station in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture. Launched in 2022, it celebrates its fifth edition in 2026. Under the banner “Let’s sow the seeds of music together!”, a wide range of genres—folk, rock, Japanese taiko drumming, choral music, gospel, and even piano recitals—resonate throughout the city. It’s a locally rooted day where amateurs and professionals gather without barriers.

This is a self-produced festival hosted by the girls’ loud rock band Hanabie. It began as a live show celebrating the members’ high school graduation in 2018 and has grown in scale each year, becoming a regular annual event. Set at KT Zepp Yokohama, the day will be packed with heat and energy as domestic acts like JasonAndrew and KALASiM join Australia’s STAND ATLANTIC to “liberate” the audience with thunderous, loud sound.
