In the commercial “Smartphone & Face Close-Up,” featuring Kyoko Fukada and Mei Nagano—eldest and youngest of the UQ Sisters—appearing as themselves, the upbeat dance-music-style track used is an original song made for the CM.

Even in the short runtime, the four-on-the-floor beat gets your body moving! The melody combines catchy energy with a cool vibe, and it’s so appealing it wouldn’t be surprising if it were sold or streamed somewhere.

It’s a number that makes you want to keep riding the beat long after the commercial ends.

Joe Hisaishi is a world-renowned composer.

His piece “Oriental Wind” is well known as the theme song for Suntory’s Iyemon commercials.

Among them, the “Two Tea Masters” version stands out as a quiet work that really brings the music to the fore.

In it, Masahiro Motoki and Mei Nagano face each other in a tea room, with a cup of tea placed between them.

The garden in the background perfectly matches the image of the music.

By the way, it’s said that each commercial features a different arrangement of “Oriental Wind.” Since it hasn’t been released on CD, let’s check out the commercial footage.

The track has been covered by many artists, including Kumi Koda and The Ventures, and has been loved by multiple generations for many years.

In the CM, however, it’s not Rats & Star or member Masayuki Suzuki singing.

The lyrics also aren’t the same as the original; they’ve been cleverly rewritten to match the content of the commercial.

Mei Nagano Suntory Iyemon Rich Taste “Effort” TV Commercial

Joe Hisaishi’s “Oriental Wind,” which plays in Suntory Iyemon Koi Aji’s “Care and Effort” commercial, is actually a staple that’s been used in Iyemon ads since 2004.

Paired with Mei Nagano carefully preparing tea, the message of “meticulously crafted tea” really comes through.

The pairing of visuals and music is exquisite—it honestly makes you want to take a sip.
