Memorable Reggae Commercial Songs (11–20)
Games People PlayInner Circle

This is a commercial for SUZUKI’s “Landy” that aired in 2001.

Watching nostalgic commercials like this brings back memories of those days, doesn’t it?
Summer BreezeReggae Disco Rockers

The commercial song for Triumph’s “T-shirt Bra” that aired around 2004.
Reggae Disco Rockers is a Japanese band, but they often sing in English and became popular for their authentic sound.
It’s recommended when you’re in the mood for a summery reggae vibe.
Ambiguous SongShonan no Kaze

A familiar song from a love-themed commercial.
It blends reggae and ballad styles to capture those moments when everyone discovers love and laments it.
We all need someone to be with—someone to laugh and cry with.
All the et cetera of love are footprints.
That’s how we move forward.
Story of Our LifeHirai Dai

Hirai Dai’s “Story of Our Life” was selected as the commercial song for Lion’s eye drops, Smile 40 Premium.
The song begins playing in the latter half of the commercial, softening the mood.
The ukulele’s tone is wonderfully soothing and truly resonates with the heart.
Golden AgeDef Tech

The song used as the CM track for Toyota’s Estima was “Golden Age” by Def Tech.
The warm, Def Tech–style lyrics and the rhythmic sound fit the commercial’s visuals very well.
Even watching it now, it still moves me—I think it’s a great commercial.
The Life Is Simple And BeautifulLIKKLE MAI

The commercial song for Pocari Sweat featuring Beat Takeshi.
The ad was filmed in Indonesia, and the hot-looking visuals go really well with the reggae music.
As the commercial says, it seems Pocari Sweat has become a national drink in Indonesia.
In conclusion
We’ve introduced several songs so far.
There are surprisingly many reggae tunes used in commercials! Since they’re for ads, famous artists sing in a different mood than usual to promote products and services, and it’s really interesting! They transcend the framework of “artist,” using their expressive power while also fulfilling the role of promoter—an artistry in its own right.
I realized that it’s this wonderful appeal that draws us in.
