SID’s best-known and popular songs

Let me introduce songs by SID, a visual kei rock band active since 2003.

Although they’re a visual kei band, they have many refreshing tracks, so even people who don’t usually listen to visual kei may find them easy to enjoy.

In particular, “Uso” became widely known after being used as an ending theme for the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, so many of you may have heard it.

When they debuted in 2003, they reportedly wore mourning attire as their stage costumes.

Fans still refer to that period as the “mourning clothes era.”

SID’s Greatest/Popular Songs (21–30)

Delusional DiaryShido

You could almost say this song defines SID—it’s become their signature track.

It’s sung from a stalker’s perspective, and there’s even a Part 2.

The melody is super catchy, so it’s a song everyone can get hyped to while doing the choreography together.

Temperature of TearsShido

SID “The Temperature of Tears”
Temperature of TearsShido

A classic winter song.

Mao’s gentle voice in a ballad style is wonderful.

It’s the kind of track that soothes you when you’re struggling or tired.

The song portrays living while supporting one another, leaving you with a warm feeling.

neighborShido

It’s an older song with a strong visual kei vibe.

The lyrics are rather eerie, and it features plenty of death growls and shouts, so it might be a track that divides opinion.

However, the song itself has a great sense of speed and feels extremely satisfying to listen to.

and boyfriendShido

This is a song we often perform live.

The lyrics portray a cute girl who tries too hard to keep up with the person she loves.

It’s about saying, “Let’s match our pace next time,” and I think couples who’ve just started dating will relate to it.

The lyrics are happy, yet a little bittersweet.

PetalShido

It’s a song they often perform at the end of live shows to thank the fans, so it’s a piece that fans are deeply attached to and find moving.

Both the melody and the lyrics are beautiful, with a touch of melancholy.

It’s a wonderful track where Shinji’s guitar really shines.

proposal (marriage proposal)Shido

It’s a song from their indie days that starts with death growls.

The lyrics are creepy, about someone who just got out of prison going to see the person they’re obsessed with.

It’s a stalker song about proposing based on delusions.

Fast-paced and a crowd-pleaser at live shows.

spare keyShido

It’s a bittersweet ballad.

With Mao’s characteristic sense for words and the meticulous lyrics, it’s a song you’ll want to savor and listen to over and over.

At live shows, there are effects like projecting the lyrics on the back monitor, which really highlights the emphasis on the words.

The guitar is great.
