SID’s best-known and popular songs
Let me introduce songs by SID, a visual kei rock band active since 2003.
Although they’re a visual kei band, they have many refreshing tracks, so even people who don’t usually listen to visual kei may find them easy to enjoy.
In particular, “Uso” became widely known after being used as an ending theme for the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, so many of you may have heard it.
When they debuted in 2003, they reportedly wore mourning attire as their stage costumes.
Fans still refer to that period as the “mourning clothes era.”

SID’s best-known and popular songs (11–20)
White TreeShido

Even when you know it’s coming, it’s the kind of chorus that makes you want to sing.
The melody is steady and very easy to sing.
If a bold, spirited boy sings it coolly, it could really set a great vibe in the moment.
But the lyrics are actually about a heartbreaking breakup.
For the sake of the two who parted, I want to shout “Merry Christmas” at the end of the song.
SID’s best and popular songs (21–30)
Farewell SongShido

It’s a bittersweet yet refreshing number themed around parting.
It was included on SID’s January 2009 album “Renai (Lament).” The song delicately portrays farewells that arrive with the changing seasons and the emotions that evolve over time.
Composed by Shinji, it resonates with Mao’s powerful yet fragile vocals.
Although “farewell” is a sad event, perhaps it can be seen in a slightly positive light, as this song suggests.
Give it a listen when you want to immerse yourself in past memories.
Deceptive LoveShido

This is the lead track from SID’s album Umibe, released in March 2022, and it was pre-released as the lead single ahead of the album.
Mao, SID’s vocalist, is one of those singers with an appealing slightly higher vocal quality.
In particular, the song we’re introducing here, “Damasiai” (“Deceptive Love”), doesn’t use a very wide vocal range in its melody, so it’s a great recommendation even for people whose timbre is on the higher side but who aren’t especially comfortable with very high notes.
The song also features a slightly swaying groove, so make sure to lock into the beat and be careful not to let your singing feel heavy.
hugShido

It’s a slightly mellow love song by SID.
It has a vibe that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day.
SID’s sweet vocals match the sweetness of chocolate, making it a great fit for the holiday.
Definitely a track you’ll want to check out as a Valentine’s Day song.
LieSID

The ending theme of the anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
The melody features a poignant, soaring chorus, and the song kicks off right from the chorus, building excitement from the very beginning.
