SID’s best-known and popular songs

Let me introduce songs by SID, a visual kei rock band active since 2003.

Although they’re a visual kei band, they have many refreshing tracks, so even people who don’t usually listen to visual kei may find them easy to enjoy.

In particular, “Uso” became widely known after being used as an ending theme for the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, so many of you may have heard it.

When they debuted in 2003, they reportedly wore mourning attire as their stage costumes.

Fans still refer to that period as the “mourning clothes era.”

SID’s Greatest/Popular Songs (21–30)

Summer loveShido

It’s a song about a blazing summer fling, but its refreshingly bright melody makes you feel happy as you listen.

For SID, the lyrics are unusually light, focusing on a carefree girl.

At live shows, the crowd gets hyped, bouncing up and down.

Fallen GardenShido

It’s a ballad-style song and the last track on the album.

The guitar and bass are great.

The lyrics feel like sinking into a dark loneliness.

I think it’s a perfect song for Mao, who sings of hope even when there is none.

As always, the guitar solo is outstanding.

Winter BenchNEW!Shido

SID is a rock band that continues to captivate fans with emotionally rich vocals and a diverse musical palette, remaining highly active even beyond their 20th anniversary.

Their 10th major-label single, released in December 2011, is a track known for heightening anticipation for the album M&W.

The catchy melody composed by drummer YUYA pairs exquisitely with Mao’s warm lyrics set on a winter morning.

At the time of release, actor Riki Takeuchi appeared in a commercial, which also drew attention for its unique bench-press scene.

Even in the harsh cold season, this work conveys the preciousness of time spent with someone important.

It’s a heart-lifting love song perfect for listening on the way to a winter date or when you want to get hyped for an event.

A 0.5-Second LoveShido

A 0.5-Second LoveShido

This is a number by SID that passionately sings of a love story where love and hate intertwine.

The emotional lyrical world crafted by vocalist Mao pairs perfectly with the dark sound created by bassist Aki.

The blazing brilliance of love captured in this song, along with the ruinous emotions lurking beneath it, has the power to seize the listener’s heart.

It was a lead track from the EP “Dark side,” released in September 2025.

Spinning a tale of sin and redemption, SID’s song was released in April 2024 as the ending theme for the anime Black Butler: Public School Arc.

Mao’s heartrending vocals and Yuuya’s lyrical melodies leave a deep impression.

It’s striking how the protagonist—facing past mistakes and attempting to take a new step forward—is vividly portrayed through poetic lyrics.

This marks SID’s fourth collaboration with the Black Butler series.

It’s a song that will gently stay by your side when you stand at a crossroads in life or feel the need to look inward.

Released in 2012 as the 11th single, it was selected as the April theme song for Nippon TV’s “Sukkiri!!”.

The lyrics convey feelings for a beloved person after a breakup, expressing emotions that can’t be held back.

RainShido

This song by SID was released in 2010 as their sixth major single.

It marked their first tie-in with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood since their third single, ‘Uso.’ While it isn’t a typical a cappella standard, it’s a beautiful ballad that would likely shine as an a cappella piece.
