There are lots of designs, like cool ice cream, lanterns from summer festivals, and seasonal flowers and insects.

Cute origami of Orihime and Hikoboshi

Let’s make cute, rounded Hikoboshi and Orihime figures with origami.
Since the body and head are made from separate sheets, prepare a total of four pieces of origami paper.
For the body, create creases and fold the corners inward to form an egg shape.
For the head, fold it into a shape that’s half the size of the body, then tuck it into the top of the body.
Glue the body and head so they don’t come apart, add round stickers for the eyes, and draw the mouth with a pen to finish.
If you want to recreate Orihime’s hairstyle, fold a strip of origami paper thinly, shape it into a heart, and attach it to the back of her head.
Easy origami you can do in 2 minutes

Let me introduce a few types of easy and cute origami.
First, a watermelon: glue a red sheet and a green sheet of origami paper together, then fold.
Draw the seeds with a felt-tip pen and it’s done.
Shaved ice uses a folding method quite similar to a paper cup.
Draw the syrup with a felt-tip pen to finish.
Lanterns, cicadas, ice cream, and other simple summer-themed origami are sure to lift your spirits just by folding them.
They also look lovely when you stick them on walls or glass windows to create a seasonal atmosphere.
Easy origami morning glory

Let’s make morning glories—one of the quintessential symbols of summer—using origami.
First, draw a circle on blue origami paper for the flower base and cut it out with scissors.
Next, take white origami paper for the inner pattern, fold it into a triangle twice, then unfold it once.
Fold the left and right corners diagonally inward so they overlap.
Draw a V-shaped cutting line, cut along it with scissors, open it up, and attach it to the circular base.
From there, you can trim the edge of the base to form petals, or make a single slit and overlap the edges before gluing to create a three-dimensional morning glory.
Make some leaves as well, and be sure to display your work on the wall!

Cute rhinoceros beetle origami

Attach round stickers to your origami rhinoceros beetle to turn it into a cute beetle.
Fold the rhinoceros beetle with origami.
If you make the body and legs as separate beetles, you can create a three-dimensional piece.
Prepare white round stickers and smaller black round stickers than the white ones.
Combine these two stickers to make the eyes.
Attach the sticker eyes to the finished origami beetle.
Then you’ll have a very cute origami beetle.
How about displaying beetles made from black, brown, or gold origami with the eye stickers attached?
Make lots—so cute! A 3D umbrella

A three-dimensional umbrella made from a single sheet of origami is a fun item for the rainy season.
It’s easy enough for children and seniors to make, so why not give it a try? Fold the origami sheet in half into a square twice, then open the pocketed part into a triangle.
Open it along the center crease, spread it along the fold lines, and flatten.
Repeat this four times, then trim off any white overhanging parts.
After cutting a small tip off the end of the umbrella, attach a straw to finish.
It’s easier to attach if you collapse the umbrella slightly and secure it with tape.
It’s also fun to use your favorite colors or patterned origami paper.
Easy! How to fold a 3D umbrella

Here’s how to fold a colorful umbrella using origami in different colors.
It looks lovely with just two colors or with a mix of many.
Prepare six 7.5 cm origami sheets, one toothpick, and one round bead with a hole.
Fold each sheet in half to make a triangle, then fold the short right edge along the long edge.
Using the crease you just made as a guide, fold the right corner, then fold the tip along the folded edge at the top and tuck it into the pocket.
Make six of these parts and assemble them into an umbrella shape.
Insert the toothpick through the center and fit it into the hole of the round bead to finish.
Choosing origami colors to create harmonious combinations makes this a fun project.
Spinning paper toy

You’ll definitely get hooked watching it spin around and around! First, cut a 4 cm × 15 cm sheet of origami paper lengthwise into three long strips.
Fold each strip in half at the center.
Start by crossing two strips at a right angle, then thread the remaining strip through the loop created where the first two intersect at a right angle.
Pull all the ends tight to secure them, adjust the shape, and it’s done! Just drop it, and it will spin as it falls.
Try dropping it from different heights and have fun!
