The Green Label “GREEN JUKEBOX” commercial series always features musicians performing stripped-down, live renditions, and it’s incredibly popular.

In the “GREEN JUKEBOX: Wind” version starring Mikako Tabe, the hugely popular singer-songwriter Aimyon appears, performing her signature song “Marigold” in an acoustic guitar set.

The arrangement has a calm, subdued vibe that’s different from the recorded version, and that’s part of its appeal.

Galaxy “Always together. A new life”

Become an adultAina ji Endo

I bet there are many people who were captivated by the song in the Galaxy New Life Campaign commercial.

It’s a cover of YUKI’s classic “Otona ni Natte” (“Becoming an Adult”), performed by AiNA THE END, who’s active both as a member of BiSH and as a solo artist.

The original track is included on the 2012 best-of album “POWERS OF TEN.” With AiNA’s one-of-a-kind husky vocals, the lyrics resonate even more deeply through her powerful yet fragile delivery.

The song stands by you through questions about the course of life and the worries and inner conflicts of youth.

MODE Gakuen 2019 TV Commercial: 'Desire for Approval' Edition

a disguise; someone’s true colors (literally, “the skin of a disguise,” as in revealing someone’s true nature)Porukadotto Sutingurei

“Bakenokawa,” featured in Mode Gakuen’s 2019 commercial “Desire for Approval,” has a chorus that gets stuck in your head the moment you hear it.

It’s so catchy you’ll remember it after just one listen.

You might even find yourself humming it without realizing it.

Even among Mode Gakuen’s commercials, which have featured many distinctive and cool tracks, this one feels particularly striking.

It’s a song that encourages everyone who’s breaking through their own walls or striving to embrace what makes them different.

GEKKEIKAN THE SHOT “Let’s Go Our Own Way” 30-Second Version

going my wayMiyamoto Hiroji

The song “going my way,” used as the CM song for Gekkeikan THE SHOT’s “Let’s Do It My Way” commercial, perfectly matches Hiroji Miyamoto’s outrageous, free-spirited vibe and that feeling of having a drink.

It’s truly a “going my way” kind of track.

Its energetic, powerful vocals and sound give you a real boost! Am I the only one who feels like breaking into a dance? It’s insanely cool—I can’t get enough of it! It’s perfect to pair with a drink, of course, but also a great pick-me-up when you need some energy.

Let’s go do what we want to do!

SUNTORY CRAFT BOSS No Sugar “A New Breeze: London” Version 30 Seconds

Life is full of dreams.Shiina Ringo

When I think of BOSS, I picture canned coffee, but this one’s a tea commercial.

Since it’s tea, they use the word “Tee-ss” as a kind of pun.

Takako Matsu and Hana Sugisaki appear in it, and Tommy Lee Jones—the alien familiar from BOSS canned coffee—makes a brief cameo too.

And at the very end, you can even hear a little bit of the CM song sung by Ringo Sheena!

Speaking of au commercials, the Santaro series is also widely loved.

In the “Voice of the Sea” edition, Kenta Kiritani plays Urashima Taro, singing about his feelings for Otohime.

The ballad sung in it is “Umi no Koe” (Voice of the Sea).

It drew a huge response, even winning the Japan Record Award.

The lyrics portray Urashima Taro conveying his love to Otohime, whom he cannot meet.

Be sure to listen for Kenta Kiritani’s passionate vocals.

DaydreamerHata Motohiro

It’s a song included on Motohiro Hata’s fifth album, “Ao no Kōkei,” released in 2015.

It was used as the theme song for Daito Kentaku’s “Minna no Omoi” commercial, showcasing Hata’s refreshing, resonant vocals to the fullest.

The chorus from the commercial sticks in many listeners’ minds, making it a tune you’ll find yourself humming along to.
