McDonald’s Beef Stew Pie: “What are you gonna say about the pie?” edition

WHITE BREATHT.M.Revolution

WHITE BREATHT.M.Revolution

I couldn’t help but laugh the first time I saw it.

In McDonald’s beef stew pie commercial, Takanori Nishikawa himself appears and sings a parody of T.M.Revolution’s mega-hit “WHITE BREATH,” and he does it out in the snow.

As a special touch, he even sings McDonald’s jingle—“ba-da-ba-ba-ba”—at the end.

It’s parody through and through, but this song, released in 1997, has had a remarkably long run as a hit.

It’s a seriously cool track—like sweeping up your overly rational girlfriend into a bold embrace.

It’s a bit of an older song, but if you’ve never really listened to it, please do.

And if you have time, check out the much-talked-about music video with the raging wind!

JR Central: “To Everyone We Want to See” (Version)

UA – Let's Go Meet (Official Audio)
Let's go see (someone).UA

The 2023 Christmas season JR Central commercial, “To Everyone You Want to See.” It begins with Kento Kaku boarding the Shinkansen as snow flutters down, and is packed with moving everyday reunion scenes of people meeting the ones they want to see at Christmas and year’s end.

The CM song is “Ai ni Ikou” (Let’s Go See Each Other) sung by UA, and this track really tugs at the heartstrings.

Japanese Red Cross Society: Coming-of-Age Blood Donation Campaign 'That Girl Donates Blood / Neighborhood Chinese Diner' Version

Utopiaimase

The commercial “That Kid Donates Blood / Downtown Chinese Diner” subtly weaves blood donation into everyday life, making you think, “Hey, donating blood is kind of nice.” With that in mind, the Hatachi no Ketsueki (20-Year-Olds’ Blood Donation) slogan, “It’s kind of cool,” also starts to feel really appealing.

The song in the CM is imase’s “Utopia,” and its lyrics—like a gentle reminder that “you don’t have to try so hard”—feel like an imase-style anthem cheering on life.

I’m sure many people find his warm voice soothing day after day.

Speaking of imase, his debut track “Have a nice day” racked up an incredible 500 million plays, especially on TikTok.

His other songs are highly recommended too!

Nissan '90 Years of Nissan Technology' Version

Highermilet

Nissan’s commercial “Nissan Technology 90th Anniversary” condenses the company’s history into 30 seconds, yet you can feel a story so rich it seems almost a waste to compress it that much.

Their stance—continuing to move not only cars but the world itself—is seriously cool.

The song playing in the background is milet’s “Higher.” The chorus, repeating in English “higher and higher,” has an addictive quality.

After the decision to use her song in the Nissan ad, milet posted on X that she, too, wants to keep running long and far like Nissan and deliver her voice.

The track is included on her 2024 EP “Anytime Anywhere.” If you’re curious, definitely check it out!

From her first time living alone to the many first experiences that come with it, the ad is exciting for viewers to watch.

The commercial song features Kinoko Teikoku’s “Kinmokusei no Yoru.”

Charcoal-grilled, fall-apart chicken curry “Getting Hot” version – 30 seconds

The Sukiya commercial featuring Satomi Ishihara savoring their charcoal-grilled, fall-apart chicken curry leaves a strong impression.

The ad uses “Tomorrow!” by Zettakun, an artist active as a rapper and track maker.

Set to a light and bright melody, the lyrics express the excitement of looking forward to tomorrow.

Just like Satomi Ishihara in the commercial, you can look forward to delicious food, to meeting your best friends, or to any small daily joy of your own.

Let’s find those little pleasures and wait for tomorrow with this song!

This commercial lively depicts Daigo from Chidori awkwardly trying his hand at matchmaking, with events taking a sudden turn.

The appearance of Yabai T-Shirts Yasan performing “Happy Wedding Mae Song” also conveys the fast-paced feel of the matchmaking process.

While the video has a storyline, the fact that Lake is introduced only via on-screen text adds a comedic touch.
