Formed in 2002 and making their major debut in 2006, Yellow Cherry continue their activities while still living in Aomori Prefecture.
“Ippome,” included on their 2006 mini-album, was used as a theme song for the anime The Prince of Tennis.
Lord ChamaTanaka Yoshitake

Yoshitaka Tanaka, a singer-songwriter and dairy farmer, is from Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture.
This song, used as the opening theme for the anime Obocchama-kun, was written and composed by Ikuzo Yoshi, who is also from Aomori Prefecture.
Ideal personRIKU

RIKU is a female singer-songwriter from Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture.
She has a beautiful, clear voice and performs in a guitar-and-vocals style.
She is active mainly in street performances around Omiya, Saitama-Shintoshin, and Kitasenju.
She was also active in the duo Pazq, but that project is currently on hiatus.
“Riso no Hito” (The Ideal Person) is a track she released after winning an audition held on an interfm radio program.
The arrangement was handled by music producer Jun Murayama.

Ningen Isu is a British-style hard rock band centered around guitarist Shinji Wajima and bassist Kenichi Suzuki from Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture.
They’re a unique band that pairs sturdy, heavy sounds with Tsugaru dialect and horror-themed lyrics.
Jinmensou (Human-faced Tumor) is one of Ningen Isu’s signature songs—if you want to get to know them, start with this.
It’s eerie.

Chikuzen Sato, the vocalist of Sing Like Talking, is a singer-songwriter from Aomori City in Aomori Prefecture.
He has created numerous hits, including WIND OF CHANGE and Jūsan-ya no Tsuki/Back in love.
His cover of Off Course’s “Umarekuru Kodomotachi no Tame ni” is a ballad that almost everyone has heard, and it pairs perfectly with Sato’s clear, crystalline voice—an unforgettable masterpiece and cover you’ll want to keep listening to.

Kazuyuki Itabashi is a blind singer-songwriter from Mutsu City in Aomori Prefecture whose soul-stirring voice and message continue to give courage to many.
Rooted in folk and rock, the words born from his intense life experiences resonate deeply with listeners.
He began pursuing music in earnest following the September 11 attacks in 2001.
One of his signature songs is Daijoubu, released in 2010.
The track became well known at Koshien as a fight song for Hachinohe Gakuin Kosei High School.
In 2017, he provided a song for enka singer Miyuki Kawanaka, marking his major debut as a composer.
Riding in YouTakacha

The song used in Otsuka Beverage’s MATCH commercial was “Riding in You,” released in 2006.
It’s Takacha’s third single.
With parents who are music teachers, he also has the background of having worked as a scaffolder on the construction of Roppongi Hills’ Mori Tower.
He is from Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture.
