In the commercial for the Spacia, which underwent a full model change in 2023, in addition to Mana Ashida, Tasuku Emoto, Emma Miyazawa, and Rinko Suzuki appear as a family.

Townwork ‘Suspension Bridge’ EpisodeTakuya Kimura, Mana Ashida

The Townwork commercial “Suspension Bridge” featuring Takuya Kimura and Mana Ashida in zombie makeup.
It’s a snapshot while they’re getting ready to shoot a zombie movie, with Kimura and Ashida talking about Ashida’s friend.
When Ashida says, “Once again, just my bad luck,” Kimura mishears it as “Townwork?” and from there things take a slightly odd turn.
When Ashida restates her story, this time she clearly says “Townwork,” and although Kimura calls her out on it, she stays unfazed—leaving Kimura confused by the word “Townwork.” The ad is filled with comedic banter and makes you really curious about the movie they’re filming.
Townwork “Raft” VersionTakuya Kimura, Mana Ashida

The commercial where Takuya Kimura and Mana Ashida appear as themselves is the Townwork “Raft” edition.
This ad is a unique piece depicting Mana Ashida and Takuya Kimura during a commercial shoot.
In their dialogue, Kimura asks what Townwork is, and Ashida answers his question with the phrase “ito okashi.” Since it’s a commercial, there isn’t any deep meaning; it’s designed to make an impact, which is likely why the content is presented this way.
Y!mobile’s basic fee is under 1,000 yen! “1,000-Yen Squid” versionMana Ashida, Tetsuro Degawa

This is Y!mobile’s commercial “Basic fee under 1,000 yen! The 1,000-Yen Squid,” which portrays the world of Genius Bakabon in a realistic style.
Tetsurō Degawa, channeling Bakabon’s Papa, really stands out, and Mana Ashida’s adorableness shines.
Since the basic fee is under 1,000 yen, a squid with “¥1000” written on its body appears.
Then Futenyan, the iconic Y!mobile cat, pounces on the 1,000-yen squid, grabs it, and runs off.
In the end, just when it seems the squid has been safely recovered, Papa gets a face full of ink—that’s the punchline.
Y!mobile basic plan under 1,000 yen! ‘Hajime-chan Makes an Appearance’ EditionMana Ashida, Tetsurou Degawa, Kazuya Kojima

This is the familiar Y!mobile commercial “Y!mobile’s base fee is under 1,000 yen! Hajime-chan Appears,” featuring Tetsuro Degawa as Papa Bakabon and Mana Ashida as an adorably cute Bakabon.
Speaking of Bakabon, you can’t forget Hajime-chan, Bakabon’s little brother who’s a genius despite being a baby.
As they talk about Y!mobile’s base fee being under 1,000 yen, Hajime-chan jumps in to add that unused data can be rolled over.
Hajime-chan is played by Kojima from the comedy duo Unjash, and his sharp quips in the commercial are as great as ever (lol).
Y!mobile Student Discount: “Deliver the Forgotten Item” EditionTetsurō Degawa, Riho Yoshioka, Mana Ashida

Here is the Y!mobile commercial themed around the Bakabon family, titled “Delivering Forgotten Items.” Riho Yoshioka, Mana Ashida, and Tetsurō Degawa appear, highlighting how the money you save with Y!mobile can go toward making a deluxe bento.
The school-uniform-clad ‘Futenyan’ is adorable, and at the end there’s the classic ‘Shee’ pose by Iyami, an indispensable character from Fujio Akatsuka’s manga.
It’s interesting how, even though it’s an old manga, it feels fresh again—like it’s come full circle.
Y!mobile Student Discount: “It’s Great for Parents and Kids!” EditionRyusei Yokohama, Tetsuro Degawa, Mana Ashida

This commercial features Mana Ashida as Bakabon from The Genius Bakabon, Tetsurō Degawa as Bakabon’s Papa, and Ryusei Yokohama playing a student in a school uniform.
They sing and dance to a parody version of The Genius Bakabon theme song.
Nyarome, a recurring character from Fujio Akatsuka’s manga, also appears in a school uniform, making it an adorable ad.
The signature gag “Shee!” by the character Iyami from Akatsuka’s works is used as well.
The choreography is by Lucky Ikeda.
