Useful for care facilities! Fall wall decoration ideas (81–90)
tassel garland
Just cut and tie! Let’s make a very simple tassel garland.
Gather old clothes you no longer wear or fabric scraps, and cut out lots of rectangles measuring 20 cm by 2 cm.
Then prepare some twine or paper string and simply tie the fabric strips onto it.
Using fabrics with different colors and patterns will make a very festive garland.
Since the only steps are cutting and tying, it’s easy to chat and have fun while you work.
Ask older adults to help too, starting with collecting clothes they no longer wear.
Halloween Garland
Here’s how to make a Halloween garland using paper cutouts.
Prepare origami paper in your favorite colors, divide each sheet into three strips 5 cm wide, then glue the strips together end to end to make a long piece.
Accordion-fold it, then draw Halloween-themed designs like pumpkins, ghosts, and bats.
Cut along the outlines with scissors and unfold to reveal a cute garland! Since the steps are just gluing, drawing, and cutting, even older adults can complete it in a short time.
For shapes that are hard to cut with scissors, like circles, using a hole punch is convenient.
Halloween pumpkin wreath
How about a pumpkin wreath for your Halloween decorations? Make a base out of thick paper, wrap it with black yarn, and create a spiderweb on the inside of the wreath.
Then make pumpkins and flowers with TANT paper and stick them onto the base to finish.
Using a craft punch to cut out the flowers makes it easy.
For the pumpkins, create a template shaped like half a pumpkin and use it to cut the necessary pieces from TANT paper.
Glue the pieces together to make a three-dimensional pumpkin.
Some of the steps are a bit detailed, but it will brighten up your wall, so give it a try!
Halloween mobile
Let me introduce a sparkly Halloween mobile.
First, cut out shapes from construction paper, such as a jack-o’-lantern, bats, a castle, and spider webs.
Draw patterns and cut those parts out as well.
Once you attach colored cellophane to one side, the decorative pieces are done.
Next, just tie the decorations to the hanging part made with string and straws.
When light hits the colored cellophane, it sparkles beautifully.
It’s very easy to make, so it’s perfect for craft activities for seniors.
Halloween monster balloon
Halloween, a major event in autumn, features a variety of characters centered around ghosts.
Let’s create those Halloween characters by adding designs to origami balloons.
Since all the origami pieces share the same cube shape, your choice of colors and how you draw the designs are key.
While including classic motifs like jack-o’-lanterns and mummies, try coming up with your own monsters as well.
It could also be fun to incorporate not only monsters from overseas but Japanese yokai, too.
