kickbase

Junior High School Friendly Sports Tournament Kick Baseball Semifinal vs. Ichioka Higashi (September 7, 2014)
kickbase

The rules are like baseball, but instead of hitting the ball with a bat, the batter kicks it—kickbase.

The pitcher rolls the ball, the batter kicks it with their foot, and then runs the bases like in baseball.

A fielder can get an out by catching a fly ball, stepping on a base while holding the ball, or hitting a runner with the ball.

Everyone except the batter throws the ball by hand.

Depending on the region, there are various rule variations, such as starting play from the batter without a pitcher, or prohibiting bunting as in baseball.

It’s a sport you can enjoy casually even if you don’t have baseball experience and find it hard to hit a ball with a bat.

futsal

Futsal is an all-weather sport as well, and it’s more flexible with venues than soccer, which makes it appealing.

However, there tends to be a big skill gap between experienced players and beginners, so if you add handicaps or set some original rules, I think everyone can have fun playing together.

Carrying a ball with a holey newspaper

Carrying a ball with a holey newspaper

Here’s an idea for a relay game using a newspaper and a tennis ball.

The rules are very simple: two players work in perfect sync to reach the goal without dropping the tennis ball through the holes in the newspaper.

The rules are easy, but it’s surprisingly challenging even for adults—that’s part of the fun.

You can play it anywhere, indoors or outdoors.

First, pair up, spread out a sheet of newspaper, and place the ball on top.

Work together to carry it carefully without dropping it.

If you drop it along the way, pick it up immediately and restart from the same spot.

The team that reaches the goal first wins! It’s also a great activity to include in a sports day event.

Pass-Pass Tag

Exercise play to improve children's motor skills: 5. Ball Touch
Pass-Pass Tag

“Pass-Pass Tag” is a game that combines dodgeball and tag! Split into chasers and runners; the chasers catch opponents by tagging them with the ball.

There’s a rule that a chaser holding the ball can only take one step, so they naturally learn teamwork by passing among themselves.

Since you don’t throw the ball to hit others like in dodgeball, even kids who are afraid of the ball can join with confidence.

Adding a time limit makes the battle even more exciting!

Water ball

Among recent marine activities, the Water Ball is one you can enjoy at a reasonable price.

You move across the water with a strange sensation, and ideally, it’s something a man and a woman would get in and enjoy together.

Of course, it could still be fun even if it’s just guys going in together.

Rubber-ball baseball

It’s great that the ball is soft, so even if you’re hit by a pitch it doesn’t hurt at all.

And not only that—the ball experiences a lot of air resistance, so you get all kinds of breaking pitches that would be impossible in hardball baseball.

That makes it hard to hit even for experienced players, and it’s appealing that both experienced and inexperienced people can enjoy playing together.

balance ball

The “balance ball” has become a widely used home training item.

There are various types, including ones that can be used as a chair and ones with attached tubes to focus on upper-body training.

Beyond simply balancing on the ball or bouncing it for fun, there are many training methods to strengthen your core.

It’s also appealing that you can do it indoors at whatever time you like.

Find a balance ball that suits your needs and incorporate it into your daily routine!
