Christmas boots

For many children, the best part of Christmas is the present from Santa.
And to receive that present, it’s important to set out a stocking or boot.
Let’s make an essential Christmas boot out of construction paper.
First, cut the construction paper into the shape of a boot.
Make two pieces in the same shape.
Next, punch holes around the edge of the boot and decorate it with drawings however you like.
Finally, thread yarn through the holes and attach the two pieces of paper together to complete the boot.
You can put things inside it just like a real boot, and if you tie the yarn ends together to make a loop, you can hang it up—another nice touch.
Christmas wreath

This is a cute Christmas wreath you can make with origami.
Let’s create perfect-for-Christmas items out of origami, such as the wreath base, Santa Claus, a stocking, presents, a ribbon, and a candy cane.
The steps are simple enough for preschoolers and kindergarteners, so why not have each child make one to brighten up the wall display? By choosing your favorite colors for Santa, you can create your very own original wreath.
If it’s hard to finish in a single day, work on it little by little each day and complete a wonderful wreath.

As children turn five, they’re able to do so much more, aren’t they? For this sock craft, stick pieces of roll sticky notes onto construction paper in any shapes you like.
Using roll sticky notes is recommended because the paper is less likely to tear when you peel them off at the end.
Paint over the roll sticky notes with watercolor or paint, let it dry, then gently peel the notes off.
Add some fluffy trim, and your Christmas stocking is complete! It’s exciting to see what kind of patterns the socks will have.
It also sounds fun to make them in different sizes—big stockings and small ones!
A chimney Santa toy made from a milk carton

Let’s make a cute toy where Santa Claus and a reindeer pop out of a chimney! You can use it for pretend play, too.
First, cut a milk carton to a length of 15 cm from the bottom.
Cut out the bottom piece.
Then wrap the carton with colored construction paper to look like a chimney and glue it in place.
Next, cut out parts for Santa Claus and the reindeer from construction paper.
Don’t forget the house parts that you’ll stick onto the milk carton.
Glue the house parts onto the carton, and attach Santa and the reindeer to the tips of straws to make little puppets.
Draw the facial expressions, the house’s window frames, and the chimney pattern, and you’re done! Move the straws and the puppets will pop out of the chimney.

It’s so delightful to get candies and treats in a Christmas boot—it feels like a little present, doesn’t it? For this boot craft, you’ll need a paper cup, pipe cleaners, and construction paper.
Before you start, cut the construction paper to fit the shape of the paper cup and the toe of the boot.
When attaching the construction paper to the cup, the key is to shape the toe with a rounded curve so it looks like a real boot.
Add a pipe-cleaner handle to the cup, and decorate with ribbons or stars as you like to make it even cuter and more Christmassy.
