Iced Deco Cup
https://www.tiktok.com/@mugimama_diy/video/7260428839011011847Let’s make an “icy deco cup” using interior stones and a cup sold at 100-yen shops.
All you need is your favorite cup, interior stones, a hot glue gun, and any decorative parts you like.
It’s really simple to make—just use the glue gun to attach the interior stones and parts to the cup! If you choose clear, colorless parts to match the interior stones, the whole thing will look like an ice glass.
You can use store-bought parts, or if you’re good with resin, you can make your own.
scratch art

Scratch art is an art form where you scrape a black scratch surface with a pointed pen or similar tool to reveal colorful patterns and designs underneath.
One of its charms is how easy it is to enjoy.
Let’s try making scratch art by hand.
First, color a clear plastic file folder with bright colors using permanent markers.
Next, paint over it entirely with black paint.
Once the paint is completely dry, it’s ready.
Use a bamboo skewer to scratch the dried paint and draw any pictures you like!
Stencil: “Various Dream-colored Trees”

Let’s paint with a sponge! I’ll introduce an idea for a stencil called “Various Dream-Colored Trees.” A stencil refers to a technique where you place a stencil sheet with letters or patterns cut out, then apply paint from above to create the design.
This time, let’s try making a picture using a sponge and a craft knife.
What you’ll need: black construction paper, white construction paper, a ruler, a pencil, a craft knife, tape, a sponge, and paints.
It’s a wonderful idea that will have your friends and teachers asking, “How did you make that?”
Snow globe made from an empty bottle
Many people have probably received or bought snow globes as souvenirs or gifts.
Why not try making one with an empty jar? It’s easier than you think, and the result is beautiful and soothing.
All you need is an empty jar, a melamine sponge, liquid laundry starch (or thick laundry glue), small figurines or similar parts, and some glitter.
You can get them cheaply at a 100-yen shop.
First, attach the melamine sponge to the inside of the jar lid, then glue the figurines or other parts onto the sponge.
Put glitter into the jar itself, add laundry starch and water, mix, and screw on the lid—that’s it!
Charm made with a glue stick

Glue guns used for DIY projects and the glue sticks that go inside them now come in lots of colorful varieties—like glitter—thanks to the recent DIY boom.
Using those glue sticks, you can easily handcraft cute charms.
What you’ll need: glitter glue sticks, beads, and your choice of silicone molds in heart or animal shapes.
First, place the beads or other pieces you want to stand out on the surface into the silicone mold.
Then add several colors of finely cut glue stick pieces on top, and bake them in the oven so they melt with the heat.
Once they cool and harden again, your adorable charm is ready! You can use it for keychains, hair accessories, and more.
Be careful when the glue sticks are melted, as they are very hot.
Pictogram-style collage

Let’s combine pictograms to create a storytelling collage.
First, use colored construction paper or similar materials to make a shallow box.
Once it’s made, fold it at a 90-degree angle to create a stage-like setup.
Next, copy the pictograms you want to use and cut them out with scissors.
Depending on your story, you can use only certain parts of a pictogram.
It can also be fun to create or draw additional non-pictogram elements.
By all means, use a variety of ideas to make your own entertaining pictogram theater.
a picture from the story

When drawing, choosing a theme is important, and some people may struggle with that and find it hard to get started.
For those who aren’t good at deciding on a theme, a recommended approach is to use a story as a reference and create your artwork from it.
Freely choose a narrative, find a scene you like, and express it in your own way through your art.
Because cover illustrations and interior artwork can influence you, it takes skill to see how far you can distance yourself from them and how much originality you can bring.
Try to visualize the setting of the story and make a habit of expanding your imagination from there.
