Only HumanK

This is the fourth single released in Japan by K, a Korean singer, and it came out in November 2005.

It was also used as the theme song for the TV drama “1 Litre of Tears,” and became a big hit.

K is known for a gentle voice that contains very soft high-order overtones, and that charm is brought out to the fullest in ballads like this one—especially in the final part of the chorus sung in falsetto, which strongly conveys the song’s sense of wistfulness.

When you sing it at karaoke, try to place your voice as softly as possible toward the center of your upper palate—around the nose.

You’ll likely be able to sing with a beautiful falsetto voice.

It’s Gen Hoshino’s 12th single, released on April 27, 2021 as a digital-only track.

It was reportedly written as the theme song for the TBS Tuesday drama ‘Kikazaru Koi ni wa Riyuu ga Atte’ (There’s a Reason for Dressing Up Love).

Gen Hoshino’s voice has a captivating quality in the mid-to-high range, and his vocal skill and expressiveness are fully on display in this song as well.

He delivers a performance that deftly employs gentle, high falsetto tones.

You could even say it’s an ideal piece for practicing mixed voice to falsetto transitions.

Emeraldback number

This was back number’s second digital single, released in October 2020, and it was used as the theme song for TBS’s Sunday drama “Dangerous Venus.” In this track, falsetto is used very effectively and clearly in the last part of the chorus and the section right before the first chorus, making it an ideal practice piece for anyone looking to try singing with falsetto.

The chest-voice range used isn’t very wide either, so it feels like a song many people can enjoy singing.

Give it a try!

I’m coming to see you now.Uru

[Official] Uru “I'm Going to See You Now”
I'm coming to see you now.Uru

A track from Uru’s second album “Orion Blue,” released in March 2020.

She’s often introduced as a singer with a beautiful falsetto, but across the song as a whole there are many parts that seem to be sung in mixed voice.

The so-called “falsetto” only appears for a brief moment in the song when she gently sings the high notes, but the way she uses that soft, sigh-like falsetto in that instant is truly outstanding.

Swiftly and appropriately switching vocal production like this is quite difficult.

From the way she uses mixed voice in the chorus and other sections as well, you can tell she’s a singer with very advanced vocal and singing technique.

It’s also a highly recommended song to use for practicing falsetto production, including head voice and mixed voice.

Maplesupittsu

This is the 19th single by the Japanese rock band Spitz, released in July 1998 as a double A-side with the coupling track “Spica,” and it was used as the opening theme for TBS’s COUNT DOWN TV.

It’s a very relaxed ballad, but you can enjoy vocalist Masamune Kusano’s highly resonant falsetto, especially in the high notes of the chorus.

It seems likely he’s using a falsetto with a strong chest component—something close to what’s commonly called mixed voice—but in any case, it’s an excellent example of a male vocalist making effective use of falsetto.

Be sure to listen closely to the original and practice along.

GOOD DAYMrs. GREEN APPLE

Released in September 2025, this work is a celebrated song by Mrs.

GREEN APPLE woven with a lively melody around the theme of enjoying life.

Their songs often span a wide vocal range, and this one is no exception, covering a very broad range from mid1 B to hi D.

The standout feature is the final chorus, where hi B appears three times, all sung in mixed voice.

Although it’s quite high, if you have an above-average vocal range, it should be just barely singable.

Try focusing your practice on training to produce a light, small mixed voice at first, then gradually increase your volume.

Among J-POP bands, Official HIGE DANDism stands out for songs that somehow evoke elements of Black music.

The vocalist, Satoshi Fujihara, is known for having a very high voice.

Their track “Parabola” showcases Fujihara’s soaring high tones; while its overall range isn’t extremely wide at mid1 F to hi D, it frequently hits hi A# and hi C, making it a perfect piece for building endurance in your mixed voice.
