Fruit roll cake

Whole cakes in round shapes, and triangular shortcakes—there are so many different kinds of cake, aren’t there? Here we’re introducing decoration ideas for sliced Swiss rolls.

A brown or pink sponge filled with plenty of cream… and inside, delicious-looking fruit! The strawberries topping the roll cake are adorable, too.

If you’re making it for Valentine’s Day, you could use a chocolate-colored sponge and top the cake with kids’ favorite chocolate candies.

Alice in Wonderland

For Valentine’s Day, how about creating a wall display inspired by Alice in Wonderland, a favorite among both children and adults? Featuring a rabbit, hearts, and a girl in a cute dress, Alice in Wonderland is perfect for Valentine’s decorations.

If you want to go the extra mile, we also recommend depicting the tea party from the story.

Arrange Valentine-themed sweets and treats on the table to make the display even more fitting for the occasion.

Try expressing Alice’s world in Valentine colors.

We’ll show you how to make a gently swaying heart decoration using colorful paper strips of different lengths.

It’s an adorable indoor ornament, perfect for Valentine’s events.

Layer paper strips of varying lengths, placing the longest in the center and stacking progressively shorter ones on each side, then bundle them together by curling them into shape.

After bundling both sides, secure the gathered ends with a stapler.

Punch a hole in the protruding strip you left in the middle, thread string or fishing line through it, and hang it from the ceiling or a window to complete your handmade heart mobile.

Choose any colors you like and have fun making it!

Heart sun catcher

Heart sun catcher

Let’s make a heart-shaped sun catcher.

First, prepare two heart illustrations that are just outlines.

Cut out the inside of the heart on only one of them.

Turn over the paper of the illustration that you didn’t cut, and decorate it with masking tape or dot stickers.

Once you’re done, place the heart illustration with the cut-out interior on top and glue them together.

Trim off the excess around the edges, and your heart sun catcher is complete! This project generally uses thin paper like copier paper, but if you make it with transparent laminate film and decorate a window, it might look even prettier with sunlight shining through!
