RE RESCUEREOL

Reol – ‘RE RESCUE’ Music Video
RE RESCUEREOL

Reol is a female singer who’s constantly dropping hit tunes and making a huge impact on Japan’s dance music scene.

She has many popular tracks, but the one I especially recommend is RE RESCUE.

The real challenge in this song is the chorus.

Near the end of the chorus, there’s a section where you repeatedly switch between chest voice and falsetto.

It’s not just about using falsetto—you also need to maintain volume and deliver a slightly shout-like tone within it, which makes the difficulty quite high.

Definitely give it a try.

rock starAdo

Ado, who rose to prominence in her teens as a masked singer who never shows her bare face, has been taking the scene by storm with unstoppable momentum since her major-label debut in 2020.

Her unforgettable voice is supported by overwhelming power and a wide expressive range; both her forceful shouts and her falsetto carry a distinctive allure.

In April 2025, she released a track that clearly reflects the influence of Ringo Sheena, whom she has said she respects.

Featured on her first best-of album, “Ado no Best Album,” the song “Rockstar” fully showcases Ado’s aggressive side, built around a hard rock sound befitting its straightforward title.

While the song’s structure is relatively simple hard rock and the melody line isn’t overly complex, delivering it from Ado’s growling lows to her lustrous, powerful falsetto seems extremely challenging.

If you don’t keep your vocal folds firmly closed and master diaphragmatic breathing before attempting the shouts, you’ll quickly strain your throat—so be careful on that front.

ROSEHANA

ROSEHANA

In 2025, it’s no exaggeration to say that HANA, a seven-member girl group, is one of the most talked-about acts.

Produced by Chanmina, their fluid blend of hip-hop and R&B delivers a world-class level of polish that has stunned audiences at home and abroad.

Their debut single “ROSE,” released in April 2025, became an unexpected smash for a rookie act—its music video amassed 15 million views on YouTube within three weeks—showcasing the remarkable potential of all seven members.

Their “no lip-syncing” policy speaks for itself; just watch their officially released live performances to see their skill.

Of course, that means you’ll need solid vocal ability to sing their songs at karaoke.

From powerful, R&B-style vocals that soar from high to low to tight, hard-hitting rap, if you and your confident singer friends can pull off a faithful recreation, you’ll undoubtedly be the stars of the night!

About meSuperfly

Superfly – Boku no Koto (Mrs. GREEN APPLE cover) [Music Video] / Included on the cover album “Amazing” (Release: 2025.6.18)
About meSuperfly

When you think of Superfly, don’t they come to mind as a representative artist for high-pitched songs? I’ve heard this cover—Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s “Boku no Koto” performed in the original key—has been getting a lot of attention.

With Mrs.

GREEN APPLE, you feel the poignancy and fragility, while with Superfly, you sense a forward-looking, straightforward strength—that’s the fun of cover songs.

In the chorus, the expansive high note up to D5 and the falsetto at G5 are incredibly satisfying to hear, so I’d love for you to master them.

“Sing with your face”: lift your facial muscles and eyebrows firmly and let your voice out without hesitation.

ifNishino Kana

“If” has a melody that conveys a poignant feeling right from the intro—it’s such a beautiful song.

It’s the piece my student practiced the most, and it holds special memories because they said, “I want to sing with a beautiful voice like Kana-yan’s!” and overcame their struggle with falsetto.

The highest note in this song is D#5, which is of course high, but I think the improvised falsetto lines at the beginning and end can be tough if you’re not used to them, since they’re sung with various articulations.

Those ad-lib sections sound so beautiful, so it’s worth nailing them.

With themes like “fateful encounters” and “hopes for the future,” I’d love for you to sing it to someone important to you.

This gameSuzuki Konomi

Do you know the anison singer Konomi Suzuki? She’s really cool, so if you like anime songs, you should definitely give her a listen! In “This game,” the notes are extremely high throughout, and it even modulates in the last chorus, making it go even higher.

The overall range of the song is B3 to F5, which is generally on the higher side, and if you try to belt it all in chest voice, your throat will get wrecked (lol).

Suzuki mixes in head voice skillfully.

When hitting notes as high as in “This game,” it’s easier if you focus on resonance rather than just pushing or belting.

That said, it’s not something anyone can do right away, so first try placing a hand on your chest and check that your chest is resonating.

Also, if you forget to breathe, you won’t be able to hit high notes, so take plenty of air through your mouth and line up your breathing with the song’s timing!

HeroYOASOBI

YOASOBI “The Brave” Official Music Video / TV anime “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” opening theme
HeroYOASOBI

It’s the 20th digital single by the music duo YOASOBI, released in September 2023.

The song is used as the opening theme for the TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

It’s an up-tempo track built on a vocal melody that moves intensely and intricately up and down, and I feel it requires quite a high level of vocal ability and expressive control to sing well.

A precise sense of rhythm is also very important.

In addition to smooth and appropriate register transitions, the way you cut off notes and sustain them in each phrase is crucial.

I recommend writing out the lyrics, carefully marking where to cut notes and so on, and studying in advance before singing.
