Kyoto Sangyo University is a single-campus comprehensive university standing atop a mountain in Kyoto’s Kita Ward. The campus is very spacious, and the rows of food stalls lining the paths are truly captivating. Every year they host impressive guest bands and comedians! The university’s symbol is the constellation Sagittarius, and amazingly, there’s even an observatory on campus. During the school festival, they hold events using the observatory, so be sure to check it out!

This school festival features talk shows by celebrities, stage events, food stalls, and exhibitions. The Kacho Festival is not only an event for students; it is also created collaboratively by faculty and staff, the parents’ association, the alumni association, and the affiliated kindergarten, serving as a venue for wide-ranging交流 and connection.

Given its location right next to Shimogamo Shrine, the content focuses on Kyoto’s specialties, and the “Aji Meguri” event in particular is noteworthy. Held in early November each year, the Fuji Flower Festival captivates with a glamorous atmosphere befitting a women’s university festival. A variety of events are held annually, but the main attraction is the talk show. There’s also a regular event akin to a beauty pageant called the “Kyo-onna Yamato Nadeshiko Championship.”

Ryukoku University is a private university headquartered in Tsukamoto-cho, Fukakusa, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, established in 1922. Its founding spirit is “to seek the truth, live by the truth, and reveal the truth.” Originating from a dormitory established by Nishi Hongan-ji, it is a Buddhist-affiliated institution. The school festival at the Fukakusa Campus is called the Ryukoku Festival and is held over three days on November 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
