Let’s count numbers alternately.

[Finger Exercises, 3 Types] Alternating number counting is simple yet difficult [Dementia Prevention]
Let's count numbers alternately.

A brain-training hand game called “Let’s Count Alternately,” where you count out loud from 1 to 5 while one hand shows the number and the other hand makes a fist.

The key is to switch which hand you use each time you count.

For example, for 1, show one finger on your right hand and make a fist with your left.

For 2, show two fingers on your left hand and make a fist with your right, and continue alternating like that.

The movements are simple, but by focusing on switching both hands and numbers at the same time, you give your brain a solid workout.

Once you get used to it, speed up the tempo or add claps in between to boost both the excitement and the difficulty.

Give it a try!

Pedometer Competition

It’s a simple yet thrilling game where you compete to see how much you can advance a pedometer’s count within a time limit.

While the classic method is to hold it in your hand and shake it, trying to make it vibrate in small, rapid motions ends up tensing your whole body, leading to amusing, awkward movements—that’s part of the fun.

If you set a longer time limit, it becomes hard to keep shaking at full power the whole time, so you’ll need to get creative with how you move.

Playing background music during the time limit might also help some players discover efficient movements that match the rhythm.

Birthday line

Birthday line

It’s a game where you derive answers using only gestures, helping build participants’ trust and understanding.

Express your birthday through gestures and line everyone up in order of their birthdays.

Since numbers can be shown with hand shapes, conveying your birthday itself should be fairly easy.

We recommend setting a time limit or competing by team speed to encourage smooth communication.

Once everyone gets used to gesturing, you can change the prompts—such as “height” or “the most expensive recent purchase”—to adjust the difficulty and keep things lively.

Change Janken

[Mind Games] The “Change Janken,” where you can switch your move after throwing it, got way too hype!!! 😂 #ShortYouth #shorts #Kuremagu #SupportKuremagu
Change Janken

A psychological battle called “change janken”: after doing a normal one-on-one rock-paper-scissors, you block your view so you can’t see the hands and then declare things like, “Since you threw rock, I’ll go with paper,” while searching for a winning move.

You can change your hand as you say, or lie—both are allowed.

Carefully watch the other person’s facial expressions and way of speaking to read what they actually threw.

If you play with close friends you’re always with, it might be especially fun in terms of “how well you understand each other’s personalities.”

♪ Original Song – A Day in the Life of a Mismatched Employee – A Day in the Life of a Mismatched Employee

A simple and exciting “Dosukoi Game.” Form a circle with a few people and start with one hand clenched.

When the host says, “Dosukoi + [syllable],” participants raise their thumbs and shout a word that begins with that syllable, adding “dosukoi” at the end.

Those who say a word first advance, and the last person remaining loses.

You can keep changing the starting syllable (a, i, u, e, o, etc.) and enjoy it endlessly, so it’s sure to liven up parties.

Since it uses no props and trains concentration and improvisation, it’s also great brain training.

Wasshoi Game

A quick game for spare moments. Wasshoi Game. It gets super hard as the character count increases.

♬ Original Song – kiki_holdings – kiki_holdings

In the “Wasshoi Game,” one person picks a kana from the Japanese syllabary and declares, “Wasshoi [kana]!” Everyone raises their pinky finger like in the finger-counting game “Yubi Suma,” and you count the total number of raised pinkies.

Players then think of a word whose length matches that number of letters and that ends with the chosen kana; whoever shouts it out first with “___ wasshoi!” advances.

For example, if the chosen kana is ‘sa’ and there are four pinkies raised, someone might say, “Arekusa wasshoi!” It’s a playful hand game that’s both funny and great brain training.

C.C. Lemon

The game that was popular back in elementary school was way too fun lol
C.C. Lemon

This hand game known as “CC Lemon” actually goes by many names depending on the region and the people playing it.

The basic pattern is to clap twice to the rhythm of “C, C, Lemon,” and on the third beat, interlock your hands to form a “C.” In some variations, you thrust your hands forward to attack, or cross them in front of your chest as a barrier, making it fun to customize.

Because it requires memory of the moves and quick reactions, it’s great for brain training.

People of all ages, from seniors to young folks, can join in, so it’s perfect for party entertainment or recreational activities.
