You can start tomorrow! Group rhythm “Boat Race” “Solo boat” and “Two-person boat” are fun, but doing it as a group of 7 or 8 is even more fun! If you include it at the end of a requested staff training, the teachers’ smiles burst forth, and you can finish the session in a joyful atmosphere. It’s the same with children. If you end with a rhythm activity everyone can enjoy together, you’re sure to see the biggest smiles. ✨ Give it a try in tomorrow’s childcare! **************** “Saito Kimiko’s Cherry Rhythm Play” is a scientifically grounded method that promotes children’s development through play. Perfect for class recreation or grade-level activities! Here are ideas for a group boat race.

You know how rowing is an Olympic sport, right? This time, we’re sharing ideas for a boat race played in groups.

In the video, teams of seven sit in a row and inch forward toward the goal by pushing with their heels.

It’s not just the person in front who does the work—when everyone on the team synchronizes their timing, you can make big progress! It’s also a good idea to use a chant like “1, 2, 1, 2” or “Ready, go!”

Hula hoop relay

A “hula hoop relay” is a relay race done in pairs.

Unlike a regular relay, two people step inside a single hula hoop and run together.

It’s similar to a three-legged race.

You’ll need items like a hula hoop and triangular cones to mark the turnaround point.

It’s more exciting as a team competition, so start by dividing everyone into teams.

Once teams are set, line up in two rows and get ready.

Pairs take turns stepping into the hula hoop together, running, and passing the relay on.

The team that finishes first wins.

Sideways tug-of-war

Children’s Association Event – Recreation and Games for Fun Parties and Farewell/Welcome Parties
Sideways tug-of-war

Unlike regular tug-of-war, “sideways tug-of-war” is played by pulling the rope sideways.

Since you just pull the rope to the side, it’s an easy-to-understand game.

It also doesn’t require the large, specialized rope used in standard tug-of-war, making it perfect for recreational activities.

You can set the rules and how to determine the winner to suit the players.

It can be enjoyed even when there’s a size difference, such as adults versus children.

Zigzag Race

Zigzag Race

Zigzag Race is a game where you set up cones and run in a zigzag pattern.

The fun part is seeing how quickly you can zigzag.

If you play soccer, you might also enjoy dribbling a ball while you do it! You could make it a race to see who finishes fastest, or decide that the person who hits the cones the most loses—trying different rules can be fun.

Give it a try when you want to run around a lot!

Balloon carrying race

🧡No.5 [Parent-Child Play & Motor Skill Development] “Balloon Carrying Race” — Three generations from toddlers to seniors bouncing balloons 🎈
Balloon carrying race

This “Balloon Carrying Race” is best played indoors where there’s no wind.

It uses lightweight items—newspaper and a balloon—so both small children and older adults can enjoy it.

The rules are simple: two people hold a single sheet of newspaper and carry a balloon placed on top.

It sounds easy, but because the balloon is so light, it doesn’t stay stable on the newspaper.

You can add handicaps by switching to a small water-balloon-sized balloon or a giant balloon.

Older kids might even try hopping on one foot while carrying it.

It’s a highly recommended indoor recreation with lots of ways to get creative.

hopscotch

Line up circular objects such as hula hoops.

Where there are two in a row, land with both feet; where there is one, land on one foot.

Say “Ken” for the single ones and “Pa” for the double ones as you move forward.

Adjust the length and layout according to the players’ age and ability.

Adults can enjoy it too, so it’s a good option for getting more exercise.

It may be especially ideal for those who want to strengthen their legs.
